Network has produced another show loaded with liberal theologians and permeated with a sense of unbelief.
Peter Jennings is at it again.
The "ABC World News Tonight" anchor is the driving force behind Monday night's three-hour network special "Jesus and Paul -- the Word and the Witness." Like "The Search for Jesus," a previous ABC special Jennings shepherded, the new show is filled with "expert" analysis from liberal theologians and carries the underlying worldview of unbelief in Scripture and Jesus' divinity.
"Jennings repeatedly refers to 'the Jesus movement' as if it were just another political party or faction," Focus on the Family's Tom Neven writes in his review of the special. "They also pit Paul against Jesus, as if the apostle taught things that contradicted Jesus, and some refer to Paul as 'the founder of Christianity.' "
Dr. James Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family, has urged listeners to contact Jennings and ABC and express their displeasure with the content of "Jesus and Paul." You can use the contact information below to do just that.
To call Jennings' office directly, dial 212-456-4027 or call 212-456-4025.
To call or send an e-mail to ABC, click here.
You also can express your displeasure to the executives at your local ABC affiliate -- in fact, that might be the most effective way to protest. To find contact information, including phone and fax numbers and an easy-to-use e-mail form, click here and then type your ZIP code into the space provided.

I don't know about this program, but this is a devastating rebuttal of Peter Jennings last "Christian" Special.
http://www.equip.org/free/DJ920.pdf I assume the same outfit will do the same for this special.

I'll skip over the theology-(That's a matter for people of differing views to debate) - but the
stupid "music" was totally inappropriate, regardless of one's beliefs !!
Can anyone imagine doing a presentation on Buddha,Mohammed,or Moses using such a sound track ?
The message here seemed to be : "We are going to spend 3 hours (of which about an hour will be commercial interruptions) trashing and trivializing the beliefs of a large segment of our viewing audience-and we're going to have the cojones to claim we're honoring Easter."

If those of us who complain would stop watching these so called "Mainstream" freak shows the advertising dollars would dry up.
They deal with emotions and manipulate just like wrestling does to some.
I have never seen so many guest that have opinions and they are right about maybe 33% of the time. We are all being suckered into a guessing game and wothless people become rich over stirring up the masses. My guess is as accurate as most of theirs.

Well I havent seen his special on Islam after they attacked America.
The Problem is that he is anti-American, Anti Toby Keith (because the Toby song offended him). Anti everything that is American.
So that is wht we are Anti Peter Jennings.

I watched some of it. I was flipping between it and the game; which is why it was on in the first place: No one would be watching.
I found the music insipid. Yeah, some of it was "gospel" music, but it did not go with the information.
I found the documentary interesting. I think sometimes it is useful to look at these stories in terms of their historical context. It did not change, and would not change my theological beliefs.
I would assume that for a lot of viewers, the "political" aspect of the early church was interesting.
I found the comments about how Paul's letters--written over time and while he was being chased out from various towns--that were accepted as and eventually adopted as canon law to be very interesting.
I dont present myself as a theologian; but I do think that folks need to understand the context of the days of the early Christian movement to understand how the church has evolved into the various factions that exist today.
If you have faith, then the show wouldnt change that.

I can't comment on content, as I only watched the first 30 minutes of the show. But you're right, the music was offensive. I thought it a razmataz attempt to "capture" an audience, but at the expense of cheapening the subject.
I'm no Biblical scholar, and like i said, I didn't watch the entire show. But right at the top, the preface, Jennings tells viewers that if not for Paul, there would be no Christianity today, as if events, and history, were sheer happenstance, accidential even. No mention I saw, that God was in charge.
But let's also consider, ABC put this up against the NCAA Championship game. It will be interesting to see how ABC spins the Nielson numbers.

You nailed it Gene. I tuned in for a very brief few minutes to see if my suspicions on the content would be verified. (They were.)
But the "music" was just obnoxious and repulsive.

"Perhaps the easiest way to show protest would have been not watch the show in the first place,"I agree - I would never watch any 'special' Jennings did. It would be a waste of time, since it would only reflect his liberal ideas.

I almost hate to write on this one. I wouldn't want them to think they had one more viewer than they had.

I totally agree, why waste time on vain empty words when we already know what the agenda is and are aware of their method of operation.
Funny though how the "leftist" hate "freedom" for the masses and act as they are the "gods" with the power to give "freedom" to whom they choose.

"However in the USA and Canada people have the right to hold and express their points of view on religion."Except in Canada, certain biblical texts have been banned, so you aren't quite right on that.
