You're lucky. At that time we had our first newfie (Newfoundland--same type as won the Westmister this year) and she was blissfully on her back, all four in the air, snoring and running. She stayed there until two things happened. First, the cops showed up (alarm signal) and with them came the K9 "MOMMY THERE'S A BOY OUTSIDE!!!" And to her credit, second, once she realized that mommy was indeed really SCARED of something, she raced to her side and wouldn't leave her for a moment. 145 pounds of fur covered razor blade is a force when it wants to be. She has since passed and now we have our second newfie and this girl is much more ALERT and VOCAL.

She's not your typical Lab. She's little (45 pounds), very alert, and quick as lightning. Her bark isn't very deep (she's clearly a soprano!) but her growl comes from somewhere down deep in her innards and is a scarey noise. (But she only growls at her tug toy and the UPS man.)

She won the first leg of her Agility Dog title on Saturday. < /brag >
