This is the first activation of the "Gary J. Livacari" ping list!
As you'll remember, my son Gary is a conservative political commentator for the liberal George Washington University Hatchet. The published version of this column was cut significantly and was part of a liberal/conservative forum in the school newspaper debating the Howard Dean endorsement of John Kerry. I've posted here the uncut version. It's a little dated, but blame the inefficient editors for that!
Please circulate the article to anyone you know who would enjoy reading the opinions of a young conservative college writer. Thanks again for your support!

I had not realized that he was a freshman. Good job. Did he attend any Leadership Institute camps?

Please put me on your list! I will share the articles with my daughter who is Journalism and just starting out. She will be on the paper next Fall. Another Conservative writer. J.C. Watts told her at the Tom Cole watch party that we have too many lawyers and doctors and need more conservative journalist and teachers. Of course, J.C. was a journalism major himself.

I echo the other poster, dude, put me on your list!
I especially liked this line: Dean, a man who is perhaps the biggest loser in American political primary history...
LOL, he may well be, YYYEEEEAAARRRGGGHHH! or whatever!
But seriously, my daughter will be attending George Mason next year, so I guess she is just one year behind your son. She's a pretty staunch conservative herself, but rather a bit of a party girl, and I don't mean GOP when I say party. I've made her swear she will join the young pubbies chapter.
So, put me on the list, and we'll strive to keep each other informed. Hey! at least we've got two votes for Bush between our two kids!

Bravo...to a son, well done. I must also add that with Ted Kennedy running point, can there be any doubt of Kerry's liberal credentials...especially after his most recent diatribe. I really find it amazing, that a man who has got to move to the center, still has this bloated bovine speaking on his behalf.

Hi TaxRelief:
No, he hasn't attended any Leadership institutes. He just has a well developed political mind and a talant for writing (again, I'm sort of prejudiced!). He's attended the last two CPAC conventions and he constantly reads conservative books. And I guess I've rubbed off on him a little bit, too.

Maybe we can hook up these two conservative writers! They'll only be a short distance from each other.
The first thing he did when he got to George Washington U. was to join the Rupublican Club. And then he volunteered to be a conservative political columnist for the school paper (at a liberal shool like GWU, there really aren't many conservatives around). The editor like his wirting and he's been at it ever since. This is probably his 16th column or so. It's been a great experience for him.
Please keep in touch. I've added you to the ping list. Hope your daughter gets to take classes from Walter Williams. We also considered George Mason.

Parental dreams bump!
I think she'll love it down there in DC land, and I certainly hope our two are on the next wave of conservatives to take this nation both backwards and forewards to where it needs to be.
You gotta hope for your kids, cause your kids are your hope.

you have to look long and hard for the differences [between him and Dean].
This must be excruciating for the Deaniac toilet-drinkers who now have to settle for "Dean-lite" (poor babies ;'}

Did anyone actually think that Kerry would distance himself from Dean's rhetoric? Never. Its what gets the base riled up. "Remember Florida" "Bush is a Nazi" "Al Gore is the real President" etc
To: Democratshavenobrains
Actuall I thought he knew that an admitted liberal is un-electable and would go on pretending until after the election. All the liberal's fired up base can accomplish by it's self is to keep America laughing.
