ROME (AP) -- A new book by controversial journalist Oriana Fallaci that hit bookstores here Monday accuses Europe of having sold its soul to what she describes as an Islamic invasion.
Entitled "The Strength of Reason," ("La Forza della Ragione" in Italian), the book also accuses the Roman Catholic Church of being too weak before the Muslim world.
"Europe becomes more and more a province of Islam, a colony of Islam. And Italy is an outpost of that province, a stronghold of that colony," the book says. "In each of our cities lies a second city: a Muslim city, a city run by the Quran. A stage in the Islamic expansionism."
The book comes more than two years after the Italian writer's best-selling essay "The Rage and The Pride" drew accusations Fallaci was inciting hatred against Muslims.
A group in France unsuccessfully sought to stop distribution of the book, while two other associations have requested that it carry a warning.

Thanks for the link. Note that almost 90% of France's power is generated from nuclear sources. A large number of reactors of various types and a reason to get lots of highly enriched uranium.

Last thing this country needs are more immigrants from Europe. They have this dreadful habit of voting for the Democrats.
There's the same problem with the Canadians.
At least with the Mexicans there's a 50/50 split (except in California).

the book also accuses the Roman Catholic Church of being too weak before the Muslim world.Spot on. It's time for the Pope to call for a crusade to drive the infidels from western civilization, let alone the Holy Land. This is really getting out of hand
If he called for a Crusade I would gaurentee hundreds of thousands would volunteer and billions in donations would come flooding in to train, feed, equip, and transport them. Europe would be cleansed within a year and the Holy Land would be recaptured the following year.
Ironically, while I can see Europe (especially Spain and Italy) doing this, I bet the U.S (and probably england) would not cleanse herself, being so p.c and all.

As I understand it there are two factors at work here- two parties- Radical Islam- and Radical Leftists that are manipulating world globalization and their religious followers who are dead-enders.Unless Islam changes and the Bush Administration should make clear to them. After all what religion rewards so called martyrdom with sexual pleasure in the representation of 72 virgins. They have in essence hooked up. One of the results is antisemitism and this makes sense with the Fallaci book and rising antisemitism in Europe.
"Describing Europe as "Eurabia" -- a mix of Europe and Arabia -- the Italian writer said the continent "has sold itself and sells itself to the enemy like a prostitute."
Helluva post. Lots of this has been spoken of on FR(Eurabia)> Arab/Saudi money has bought off allot of politicians.
The Democrats are AWOL on this.I never thought we would be up to our necks in this stuff.
I will get this book, the last was good.
Finally an intellectual speaks out. Wonder what our university profs thinking of this.
And finally does Alanis Morrisette think she will fit into Sharia Law. I am sick to think we protect their freedoms to preach radical New Leftist Cultural @@it.
Morissette strips down to blast US 'censorship' Mon Apr 05 2004 14:14:52 ET Not another wardrobe malfunction !! ... feisty rock singer Alanis Morissette poked fun at Janet Jackson's notorious breast-baring episode by stripping on stage to reveal cartoonish fake nipples and pubic hair.
Morissette, hosting Canada's annual music awards, said the stunt, in which she appeared in a provocative skin-hugging body-suit was intended to expose US "censorship."
The singer, renowned for her angst-ridden lyrics, told the audience at the Juno Awards in Edmonton "we live in a land where we still think the human body is beautiful and we're not afraid of the female breast."
Morissette let a dressing gown fall to the floor to reveal her "nudity" after an announcer warned : "we can't show nipples on national TV," in an obvious dig at US outrage fanned by Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl.
"I am proud to be able to stand here and do this," Morissette said, to wild cheers from the audience at Sunday night's show.
Morissette then blasted US radio stations which have forced her to change the word "asshole" in one of her songs.
"They're in an era when they're scared, when there's lots of fear," she said. END
New cultural politics are a product of postmodernity and poststructural literary theory. Poststructuralism uses language to subvert otherwise traditionally accepted truth claims; claims that traditionally have stabilized American social order. On the other hand, postmodernism is a culture that creates myths in order to subvert conventional perceptions of reality.
An example of postmodernity and poststructuralism appeared in a recent Inside the Beltway article in The Washington Times, explaining why Democrat Zell Miller, a senior senator from Georgia, is dissatisfied with contemporary American culture. Mr. Miller often publicly speaks against deteriorating and diminishing American values. In this instance, he comments on the tainted Super Bowl fiasco, "The culture of far-left America was displayed in a startling way during the Super Bowl's now infamous halftime show." He added, "The scent of this event will long linger in the nostrils of America." This is a glaring example of the new cultural left's political agenda that uses the American counter culture (i.e., MTV) to challenge traditional morals and truth claims, upon which this republic's social order http://washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20040308-085132-3059r.htmrests..........................

The Assisi Cabal
Washington Dispatch 9/5/03 Paul M. Weyrich
Saint Francis of Assisi became known in the 13th Century for preaching the values of brotherly love and peace.
When Christians throughout the world hear of Assisi, they think of this gentle saint.
But his native village is currently the staging ground for something far more pernicious this year than urging to be faithful to a Christian God and his teachings. The Anti-Imperialist Camp is meeting in Assisi to spread the word among leftist revolutionaries and other extremists about how to bring about armed insurrection and terrorism. Guess what country and its allies that the attendees of this summer camp for radicals have specifically lined up in their sights?
What should be particularly troubling is that this coterie will attempt to forge an alliance between Marxist groups, the anarchistic left, and Islamic fundamentalists.
Indeed, organizations that our government and the European Union have identified as terrorists will be showcased at the Anti-Imperialist Camp and there will be a roundtable of revolutionaries representing so-called liberation movements from Columbia, Lebanon, the Philippines, Spain, Turkey, and the Palestinians. Communist parties and their factions from Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Russia, Italy, Germany will be represented as will such terrorist groups as the ETA (Spain's Basque liberation movement), the New People's Army (Philippines) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a Communist front group for Palestinian commando groups.
This mixing of revolutionaries representing atheistic Marxism and militant Islamics might strike the unworldly to be illogical. But a lethal cocktail of violent extremism can be concocted by this meeting once one realizes that the groups attending understand that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend
for now anyway." ....
