U.S. Muslims [CAIR] seek Pentagon probe on Iraq photo (Is it fake?)

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called for a Pentagon investigation of a photograph circulating on the Internet that apparently shows an American soldier mocking an Iraqi child.
The photo sent to CAIR seems to be of an American soldier standing next to two Iraqi children who are giving the thumbs-up sign. One child holds a hand-lettered sign in English that reads: "Lcpl Boudreaux killed my Dad, th(en) he knocked up my sister!" ("Knocked up" is American slang for making someone pregnant out of wedlock.)

Looks doctored to me. Especially left of the word 'Sister'. Kinda fuzzy.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

What idiot would pose for such a picture?
To: lonewacko_dot_com
The better question is, when this is proved to be fake, will CAIR issue an apology?

CAIR needs a Pentagon investigation and then a padlock on its door and jailing/deportation of all of it's supporters.

If we knew just WHO is posting it on the net, we'd probably be able to figure out if it's real.

I've seen a lot of Registered's stuff. This does not look like something he'd do. Why? It isn't funny.

Yep, CAIR is a terrorist (funding) organization that should be treated no differently than the other more overtly violent ones. ......Gitmo for all of them.

I agree, he wouldn't mock one of our soldiers, either.

When I viewed the image with a hex editor, look what I found:
script
var once_per_session=0
function get_cookie(Name) {
var search = Name + "="
var returnvalue = "";
if (document.cookie.length > 0) {
offset = document.cookie.indexOf(search)
if (offset != -1) {
offset += search.length
end = document.cookie.indexOf(";", offset);
if (end == -1)
end = document.cookie.length;
returnvalue=unescape(document.cookie.substring(offset, end))
}
}
return returnvalue;
}
function loadornot(){
if (get_cookie('popunder')==''){
loadpopunder()
document.cookie="popunder=yes"
}
}
function loadpopunder(){
win2=window.open("
http://www.jeeran.com/asp-bin/popads/pop_commbannerad.asp","memberads","width=500,height=150,personalbar=no,location=no,toolbar=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no") win2.blur()
window.focus()
}
if (once_per_session==0)
loadpopunder()
else
loadornot()
/script
I think it's safe to say where this thing came from.

My guess is that it's fake. Lance Corporal is a Marine Corps rank; the uniform worn appears to be Army fatigues.

Lance Corporal is a Marine Corps rank; the uniform worn appears to be Army fatigues. Very good catch. The pukes at www.jeeran.com probably wouldn't be able to discern the difference.

I see that too. I don't know why they'd put javascript in a .jpg file. I don't think that would be executed.
jeeran.com appears to be a geocities-type site, and it's based in Amman Jordan.

Anybody knows that writing on cardboard with a pencil, especially as dark as this printing appears, will cause the pencil point to puncture the cardboard at various points. There are no pressure points or puncture points shown on this piece of carboard, which leads me to believe that the original message was removed and a new one put in its place.

A Sharpie marker wouldn't puncture, but I think it is a fake.

Yeah, but it doesn't look like a Sharpie was used. It looks to me like it's the color of pencil lead.
