Isn't Burkett the guy who goes after people who claim to be Viet Vets when they are not? I read an article about this guy who went after actor Brian Denehy for claiming that he was injured in Viet Nam and come to find out Denehy didn't leave the states.
If this is the same guy, he is incredible. He has used his own money and busted several people in the past. He does it because he is honoring the real vets and the war dead.

I read Burkett's book when it first came out - even paying for the hardcover edition.
He did a lot of Freedon of Information Act requests on people who wore phony medals. Alot of stuff that came out in media stories, if they seemed a little bit phony, he researched. Perhaps, more importantly, Burkett exposes guys who built a phony military record and then used the VA system to collect benefits. He goes in-depth about that.
Amazing how many phonies are out there.
What really gets me is, where were these guys when it was not very fashionable to have been a veteran of Vietnam?

I have no respect for folks that falsify their records and/or embellish their military service.
I think this is the guy who did research on some vets and confronted them on camera. It was sad in a way to watch these grown men leqarn that the gig was up, but when folks claim medals and service they did not earn and/or perform, that's wrong and deserves disclosure.
