'Ping' on this thread to Happy2BMe's posting at 56. A lot has gone down in the last 72 hours and these events will define the future of our efforts in Iraq unless there is immediate and high profile command intervention.

In the US? Similar to those in Fallujah? None.

He destroyed an administration and removed them from power, but he certainly didn't defeat the enemy we must destroy - Militant Islamists.

Exactly. There was no surrender. They are still warring against the Coalition. The only difference is that they are doing it, not as an organized military, but rather as thugs and insurgents and terrorists.

The Coalition seems to be acting like it is a law enforcement action. It isn't. It is still war.

Much of Fallujah should already be smoldering from the retribution attacks from the Coalition. So far, not much of anything has been done. Are we looking at another Somalia? How soon before our troops are forced to tuck tail and run? Is Rumsfeld calling the shots? GWB? Powell? Who is making the 'no response' decisions?

I was just thinking - not necessarily that he was "right", but that I am starting to see why he dealt so viciously with these animals.

Then again, my non-tolerant view is that these people all worship Satan - thus murder and mayhem are their playground.

Why don't you put your Richard back in your pants and stop
calling names to someone who has been a player on this board for 4 years.

Godspeed to you.

Start changing the policies immediately (that now have resulted in the completion of the shiite arch all the way to the Mediterranean). otherwise policies will self-destruct soon
#1 - stop liberating the shiites (both males and ... females)

Just wipe out the next x number of attacking mobs until the peaceful ones are all that's left.

Never mind Bush, this IS a religous war declared 1000 years ago by the worshippers of death.

Now just how much bacon gease can you put on the bullets without fouling the action?

again, stop believeing our own hype. we really could care less if Iraq becomes a Jeffersonian democracy

That's not what President Bush said. I keep hearing we are there to give Iraqis a chance at democracy.

I find this laughable.

we needed to depose a regime that was a friend to terrorism, we need bases in that area of the world

You think you are going to kill the millions over there that hate us?

Bases?

read some articles about the 1992 LA riots, then talk to me - 54 dead, close to 4000 injured, fires burning down entire commercial areas. in just one city.

I'm sure you've seen the same videos I have. Do you really think Sunni's will truly mourn their dead? Becoming a human bomb is considered a holy duty. How we respond in/to Fallujah will not necessarily look like what all of our "military experts" on FreeRepublic think it should. Think back to our operations in Afghanistan and how we prosecuted our war in Iraq. Our operations are as unpredictable as they are effective. The mob that struck in Fallujah expected us to strike back instantly with large numbers. Now they wait. Would you want to be in their shoes? Have you ever had to wait for a punishment? Their adrenaline is depleting. Their nerves are wearing thin. They know something is coming, but they thought it would have happened days ago. Now they don't know. But every time they see a dust cloud in the distance they figure it's finally coming. And then nothing happens. And then...just as they start to think its over......
