Soldiers and Border Police uncovered and destroyed an arms-smuggling tunnel 15 meters underground in ongoing operations that began overnight Thursday in Rafah near the border with Egypt.
The tunnel is 150 meters long and its entrance was found inside a house. It is not clear if the house was inhabited.
The Rafah operation began early Friday morning and IDF forces are still in the area.
While they encountered no resistance Friday there has been a number of shooting attacks against soldiers Saturday.
No soldiers were wounded.

Why don't they boobytrap those tunnels instead of destroying them?

There is usually civilian population around, and the IDF doesn't want to hit any civilians mistakenly.

Great! Hope they remain safe while doing their job.
God bless and protect our people and our allies.

Couldn't they rig them inside the tunnel so when they're coming through with the arms they trigger it and it collapses?

Unsure. I would think the main problem with that is that, again, it is in a population center, and people are watching these soldiers. So if they would come out and the tunnel would be intact, they would suspect something and alert the terrorists.

In this koranic war crimes Terror War there are no muslim civilians. Every child over 6 should be considered a righteous target because of the Pallies' own well documented war crimes battle plan and abuse of their own children as bomb mules. Sick as it is pathetic. The jihadies have established that there are no muslim civilians, even Mein Koran et al. so command.
This is total war, a hideous Biblical scale war of live v. evil.

Also, seems to me the Suez Canal sets a pretty good neighborhood example of what's possible? Why not just a great big border moat?

The Koran also commands the Muslim to emulate the exemplary life of Muhammad. Who just so happens to have been a common thief, a merciless warrior and a pedophile.
We are lucky that many Muslims ignore this Koranic commandment.
