I much as I have always respect President Reagan I always get a sick feeling in my stomach when I think about his administration's trading of arms for hostages in Lebanon.

Perhaps America was a bit naive back then but it showed the Muslim extremists that America will negotiate.

Hopefully, America has learned its lesson and George W. Bush will show the world what we have learned.

> America will negotiate

What you do is you negotiate in bad faith to get your people out. As soon as your people are out, you blow the terrorists and their families and friends away. These days they have advanced in their goals from a hypocritical posture of rationality where they actually wanted something, to pure murder+suicide. Their prophet was possessed and their god is a demon. It makes sense that death and destruction are their only goals for others and themselves.

Actually, we SOLD arms to Iran, for use against Iraq. And then diverted some of the proceeds to help the Nicaraguan "contras" in their fight against the Communists and their Democrat allies in the US Senate, who cut off their funding.

Give your stomach a break and see it for what it was.
