CAMARILLO, Calif., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salem Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: SALM - News), the leading radio broadcaster focused on religious and family themes programming, said that Salem Radio Network (SRN), a division of Salem Communications, this morning announced that former Secretary of Education William J. Bennett will host a new, national morning talk radio show on the network beginning Monday, April 5th. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20040225/SALEMLOGO ) "We'll deliver a fast-paced, eye opening national morning show with news, headline-making guests from the worlds of politics, media, sports and entertainment, and we'll open up a dialogue with listeners from coast to coast every morning," Bennett said.
Bennett, co-director of the Washington, D.C.-based Empower America, revealed his plans at a SRN news conference at the National Press Club in Washington today.
The new radio program entitled Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" will be broadcast live from Washington every weekday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (Eastern) via the Dallas-based Salem Radio Network (SRN), which already features such nationally known talk hosts as Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt among others.
"Introducing a new, national morning show substantively strengthens our News/Talk format," commented Edward G. Atsinger III, chief executive officer of Salem. "News/Talk already is one of the most popular radio formats all across America and, until now, there hasn't been a dynamic, compelling talk show available nationally in the key morning drive daypart. That all changes today."

Bill Bennett just appeared on The O'Reilly Factor announcing his program. So why do I know so much about the O'Franken Fator with 6 stations and so little about Bill Bennett's show with 66 stations? No need to answer, I know the reason. Liberal news media bias.
He plans on talking about our suffering culture. I plan to listen if it's available in my area.

It looks to me like she will be bumping Laura Ingraham on KRLA in Los Angeles. Too bad. I really liked her program.

Good, we need a conservative voice on the 6-9 AM EST. time slot. I wonder if it will be streamed over the internet?

Actually, I think Bennett's show will taking the 3AM-6AM (Pacific Time) slot
on KRLA. That means it will bump out the 3-5AM replay of Dennis Prager
and that dreadful health infomercial at 5-6AM. <br(at least that's what I intuited from the KRLA website a week or two ago)

I too like Laura Ingraham. She's tough, well-spoken and doesn't back down under pressure. We need more like her.

Same here in Phoenix on KKNT-960. Bennett will run 3-6 am, then Ingraham 6-9, Prager 9-12, Medved 12-3 and Hewitt 3-6. Killer lineup!

dangit, I'm in Kansas City market....no dice. I've developed a routine, I found I like the Christian talk radio early, and conservative talk radio station midday and afternoon.
But alas, no Err America to be found on the dial.....but if i really need that I'll run over to the college on my lunch break

Now, if only they'd put Laura Ingraham on in Medved's slot. I'm stuck with him and Sean Hannity hear in Cincinnati.
Hey, did you know Sean has a book out?

Willim Bennett is a bloated pompous windbag.
you can bet on it!
To: CAPTAIN PHOTON
You're wrong CAPTAIN PHOTON. Bill Bennett is an excellent person to talk about our failing culture.
Gosh, where do I go to get away from screechy liberals like you? I'm not even safe on Free Republic. LOL
To: The G Man
Thanks for the list. They have four in Jacksonville and I will probably be tuning in. One of the four is "The Promise" a christian music station.
I dumped Boortz from my morning listening habits. I homeschool my son and Neal was frequently inappropriate for a yong teen. I had been streaming Tony Snow from Pirateradio, but it ties up my fax line to listen. I suspect Bennet will be more family friendly.

Great! He's going to penetrate the left coast. Laura Ingrahm and Bennett...I just may drive slower.
