Yes, I agree there probably is WMD in Syria that belonged to Saddam .. but I've also heard speculation that some of the stuff Libya turned over to us - might be part of Saddam's stash.

After Saddam was captured, Libya suddenly gave up their stuff .. why? I wondered if they figured Saddam would tell who he had given the stuff to. Libya was just trying to CYA.

Isn't she just! During the wasteland of the Clinton years, seeing her once in a while on PBS's 6 PM Newshour was worth wading through the rest of the liberal blather. She was the only one who made sense. They'd have three idiots spewing nonsense...and Laurie.

He and his wives went into a secure bunker and did not emerge until mid-October.

Imagine the stench in that joint.

Interesting question, I hadn't thought of that possibility.

The other info which continues to make me curious about the Libya stuff was the fact we were allowed to go into Libya and load the stuff on a large ship and take it away from Libya. And .. although we did list some of the stuff we found (and was suspiciously similar to the stuff Saddam said he had in his report to the UN - which WMD we could not find in Iraq), there was really very, very little revealed about the total haul. I was always curious about that too.

I'm sure we are very busy checking out the stash of stuff - and hopefully checking it against Saddam's list of WMD stockpiles. If pressed with our findings, Libya could confess they bought or traded with Saddam to get the stuff. What a coup that would be. Poor dems would jump off the nearest bridge.

Jim Robinson posted this the other day. It needs much attention.

Two articles, this one and the Richard Miniter opinion piece of Clarke's book both point out this "error" (lie) in the Clarke book:

• Fact #2: The sole remaining fugitive from the 1993 bombing, Abdul Rahman Yasin, is an Iraqi. After the attack, Yasin fled to Iraq. The Iraqi regime rewarded Yasin with a house and monthly stipend. Yet Mr. Clarke claims, incredibly, that the Iraqis jailed Yasin.

Now, let's ponder why Clarke would want to make Saddam look tough on crime, when he was in fact rewarding it.

It is breathtaking and jaw-dropping.

Nope. You assume the demkrats have shame. The demokrat mantra would just change to "We *all* wanted to get rid of Saddam, we just wanted to include our allies. Enron! Enron!"
