Members of the September 11 panel are studying Clinton presidential documents.
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- Federal commissioners investigating the 2001 terrorist attacks have been poring over some 6,000 documents from former President Bill Clinton's presidential archive.
Archivists for Clinton's presidential library spent three months gathering papers requested by the commission and recently finished sending the information to Washington, said David Alsobrook, director of materials collection.

Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore have agreed to meet privately with the 10-member commission. So what else is new? There's no controlling legal authority and it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

When I saw the title of this I thought, Here we go again they are going to clean up all the bad stuff Clinton did.
Scour means to clean or brighten. So I guess the commission will make sure everything looks nice and clean from the Clinton documents.

Clinton scoured (cleaned up) his papers before archiving them, way before they were exposed to public light.

To: Liz
Knowing these records have been sanitized.

Not only have the records been sanitized - but what good will it do to have him testify under oath? We all know he lies.

Yep he lies and he would use it to give off the wall speeches instead of responding to the questions, but I would love to see him cornered.

Remember the press briefing where Wolf Blitzer asks Clinton why he calls a smaller than requested increase in funding is called a "cut"? Boy, did he get ticked off. Got all red in the face. His response was far from elegant, too. ;-) I had the great fortune to be watching.

They just said on Fox & Friends that the current administration will only provide 25% of their documents while the Clinton administration is providing all of theirs. They didn't say why. Just adds fuel to the "secretive Bush administrration" fire that is frequently stoked by the Dims and the media.

While yer at it, see if you can find anything from Clarke in that mess....
Maybe they can find the "plan" to take out Osama too, because nobody else can....

There seems to be little doubt that Clarke's book has many purposes. Clarke profiteering, covering up for Saddam, and finally write bjclinton's legacy. Clarke's apology may have been sent to those of the liberals coalition for not protecting Saddam, and that "Oil for Food" scam that cause their coalition to loose "big time".
Could it be that Clinton & Clarke were in on the UN "OIL for Food" scam and what was going on was protecting Saddam for their fellow travelers? The scam was kept alive by resorting back to a failed "inspection" show.
Rockey's leaked memo was about getting to the "secret" INTEL via investigations, for political purposes, Campaign 2004.

Actually, Clinton has offered up all his papers on the subject (for whatever *that's* worth) but for some reason the Bush administration is withholding 75% of the Clinton papers from the 9/11 commission. Some 11,000 pages. Can't figure that one out.

I have been wondering about this since I first saw it yesterday.
I also read that a former Clinton counsel was demanding that Bush release all the Clinton documents.
I immediately flashed back to reports from 2001 that Daschle and company met w/W and informed him that he was to go easy on the former administration and in exchange, the Senate Dems would not obstruct legislation. We know how that turned out.
Then, I recalled the standard operating procedure in this WH: they wait until there is a hue and cry for something(get Senate approval; go the UN for example) and finally, after everyone insists they do something (which IS the American Way), the administration complies, hits one out of the park and scores.
A day or so ago, a FReeper described this as a football play called the *mousetrap*. It made perfect sense to me as a description of the administration's tactics.
If the Clintonistas begin to agitate for the release of ALL the Clinton documents, perhaps at some point the administration will agree and release them ALL. After all, we don't want any Clinton actions taken out of context.
They may be about to be sorry they asked for this.

Wonder if they will release the documents on Vince Foster while they are at it.

They expect the truth from that pair? Better they go to Free Republic for the record it's all here!
