A former FBI translator told Salon.com the U.S. should have had an "orange or red-type of alert in June or July of 2001. There was that much information available."We didn't have such an alert system.
If this person went straight to Salon.com, this person is not credible.

Another government person comes out against our president. It's amazing that all these Democratic plants and Paul O'Neil are doing what they are doing.
To: SDR
As I recall, the government had a good idea that AQ was going to attempt a hijacking, and the evidence pointed it happening in Europe. That's it.
Of course, not only did Clinton turn down getting Osama repeatedly in the 90s, he also chose to ignore information extracted by the Philippine government that Islamists would try to use commerical airliners as flying bombs. Guess that would be yet another Richard Clarke failure.
To: SDR
WOW! Someone had knowledge that legally boarded passengers would take control of airplanes with nothing more than box cutters and crash them into buildings!?!?
We got smacked on 9/11 because RICHARD CLARKE spent BILLIONS on anti-terror measures and not one thing was done to stop legally boarded passengers from taking control of airplanes with box cutters.

People ridicule the President's system now saying it does nothibg and purposely brings fear to the country...could you imagine what they would've done to him had he implemented it in 7/01??

This kind of crap is not going to work simply because the day it happened nobody believed it until they saw it with their own eyes.

Newsmax is using Salon.com as a reliable news source?

Yes what was reported in other stories post on FREP but is SPIKED in this story is the fact that the "Whistleblower" was hired AFTER 9-11. Wonder why that fact got spiked?

I found a discrepancy between these reports.
The story Drudge cites:
says the translator is "Mrs Edmonds, 33, a Turkish-American who speaks Azerbaijani, Farsi, Turkish and English..." The story does NOT include Arabic.
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/story.jsp?story=507514
Now this Newsmax report says "An American of Turkish descent, Edmonds, who speaks fluent Farsi, Arabic and Turkish..."
If the first story is correct it could point to Iranian sources for these stories.
There were reports by a former Iranian intelligence office who defected to the west, that he saw a model of the Twin Towers in intelligence office prior to 911.

A former FBI translator told Salon.com the U.S. should have had an "orange or red-type of alert in June or July of 2001. There was that much information available." Their first mistake was breaking the news to "penny stock" Salon.com... Their second was they're wrong. :)

The intel was flying like crazy in the summer of 2001, we reloaded an entire Marine Expeditionary unit in 24 hours and got out of jordan in threatcon delta, it took three days to offload them, this was at threatcon delta, everything pointed to an attack on a US Navy ship in the gulf region the threat included aircraft, so much crap was flying around I highly doubt if anyone was discussing the actual 9/11 attack on any medium, they had already gone way deep by then. We were all on high alert throughout the summer. Its all over the press. They dont sortie the fifth fleet for no reason
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0106/23/cst.09.html The Fifth Fleet been put out to sea. Many of those ships were already out to sea, but those that were not, they were ported in Bahrain, now out to sea. Those Marine exercises in Jordan canceled. Those hundreds of Marines been taken out of Jordan, put on the USS Boxer out to sea as well.
