You mean pain of 9.5 -- I was at like 7, so no Morphine (that I know of)

During post gall bladder surgery (many years ago), I was in the hospital, and across the hall from a man who was attempting to pass a kidney stone. (I asked the nurse what was wrong with him, because he seemed to be in such pain) I am telling you, he was making quite a bit of noise.
I felt really sorry for him, and was thinking..that's probably about the closest that a man can come to experiencing labor pains.

LOL, well maybe if you don't know you may
have had morphine...
Oh and 9.5 is just below having your leg cut off with a chainsaw.

1. I'm a man.
2. I've been around for a few decades and am a keen observer of my fellow humans.
3. In my experience women are more sensitive to cold than men are.
4. Pain tolerances seem to me to be random with no sex pattern.
5. But that cold factor! The women are always raising the thermostat until I am sweltering. :)

Why is it that men in combat can get shot, break bones, and deal with conditions most women can't, while still doing there job. Women on the other hand don't miss a beat when a chance to remind men of how painful labor is shows up. I have known several men who have broken bones (during military training) and they just sucked it up. Many women on the other hand were excused from training for cramps. Women may be able to tolerate as much pain as men but they sure do complain about it much more.

Okay, I didn't read one single reply on this thread and I know without a doubt I'm duplicating a million of them but, give me a freaking break. This has got to be one of the all time most moronic things I have ever read. Most men couldn't handle a monthly menstral cycle let alone child birth.

My house is the same way. The men I know are BIG babies when it comes to any little boo boo's or even a sniffle. It's because we men hate to be sick or injured. It interferes with and weakens our ability to fight and protect the family.

It's actually quite a bit worse for men, since the stone has, um, further to go in a very narrow channel. At least with women, the stone gets to the bladder and is released easily after that. The worst of the pain lasts 6 to 9 hours for me, and I bet it's easily twice that for men.

The only pain I get that I complain about is period pains, when bad I can't handle them at all. Hard to say how guys would cope seeing as they don't get them, but I know my brother breaks bones & doesn't say a word, where i'd be crying & in agony! Had 14 stitches & had to be on injections/pills & gas & air lol

Period pain has a function- it lets you know what is happening. You probably just need a Darvocet every now and then (pro-proxyphene). I've been banged up enough from the military to now I made an emergency first-aid kit from drugs I bought on the net 2 years ago. Viral and bacterial antibiotics to hydrocodone. This is 1 mile from the Northridge earthquake. Another good reason. I can't use them because of a security clearance, but if I need them, I damn sure will and tell everyone who needs to know!
