US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks
The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.
"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.
Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.
"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.
The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.
A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

We (NEIN) think that based upon the information we have that this is the case.
MEMRI reported on its news ticker last week that he was captured by the Iranians. MEMRI reported that Iran was willing extradite him to the US in exchange for Mujahideen Khalq members we hold.
Then we found a kind of jihadi obituary immediately after that.
Today we see another message allegedly from him.
We do have enought information to make the call that is headlining our website mainpage.
"Sean says Zarqawi is dead."
Yeah, ok, sure, I can accept that. However, always bear in mind that NEIN is a Team and that is how we make our assessments. This is clearly referenced in the quote:
"Conferencing among Northeast Intelligence Network analysts took place in response to these findings and it was unanimously agreed that based on the evaluation of evidence that was developed from our investigation it appears that Abu Musab Zarqawi is dead - for real this time."

I've not heard anything at all about this, other than what was posted on the backup board.
I did a search to see where Coalinga is in CA and it is north of LA maybe halfway between LA and San Jose.
I believe the BOLO was issued around 7:30 PT so chances are if they haven't found those trucks by now, they could be pretty much anywhere.
I just wish I had contacts in law enforcement here in CA so I could check with them but I don't. One more reason I yearn for Illinois : (
I've googled and searched and came up empty. One of the other freepers has a trucker friend that was going to see if they could find out anything.
This is, as you said, very interesting...

The posting taking credit for the Basra attacks was made this morning on Al Ansar on behalf of ZARQAWI'S GROUP by one of the SAME people who last week was asserting his martyrdom. I'm in the process of comparing the writing styles to known Zarqawi communications to try and determine whether it is likely to be authentic or not.Thank you for the detailed explanation, it's much appreciated.

A very interesting thread on the main FR forum about Saddam's
WMD being found.
Cites an article from Insight Magazine by Ken Timmerman.

However, always bear in mind that NEIN is a Team and that is how we make our assessments.Sorry Sean, I thought you wrote the article. I went back and see that Doug wrote this one.
Indeed, you are a team and I thank you ALL for all your tireless hours. I address questions and concerns personally to you because you post here and you're gracious enough to answer my questions. ;-)

Could we be ready to go into Iran?Who knows? It would be an interesting turn of events if "Israel" made the preemptive strike though, wouldn't it?

Breaking: Another massive chemical attack averted in Amman, Jordan. Forecasted 80,000 dead if consumated. I think it was two tons or so of explosives...
To: Rutles4Ever
Correction: 20 tons of explosives. Not 2.

I just saw the new on FOX. They're stating that a 20 minute confession by the terrorists is being broadcast on Jordanian TV.

RE; OUTSOURCING As an FYI, as long as you are not calling the Spanish Desk or the FlyAAWay Vacation Desk, when you call American Airlines, you are talking to a REAL AA employee here in the United States, 24/7.....so far. I'll let you know if that changes but it will not be anytime in the near future.

I would agree 100%. You already have seen my rants on the subject. In an effort to keep my blood pressure from busting the mercury, I will just say this:
The Generals can only do what the politicians allow them to do. And we know where that buck stops. BUT...it could be worse...unloaded magazines and fake grenades if a RAT was in office.

Al Qaeda Statement Claims Iraq Boat Attack
April 26 DUBAI (Reuters) - A statement apparently from top al Qaeda operative Abu Musab al-Zarqawi claimed responsibility Monday for a suicide boat attack on Iraq's Basra oil terminal at the weekend and vowed more attacks on coalition targets.
"We give you good tidings... your brothers with their boats targeted oil tankers in Mina al-Amiq and Mina al-Bakr," said the statement signed by Zarqawi and published on Muntada al-Ansar Islamist Web site.
