why does this story get little play?

I don't know about this author.
ANYBODY can obtain a copy of the documents he allegedly had by doing a FOIA request.
Seems to me a story about stolen documents only gins up more interest in those documents (and in the author).

I assume Mr. Nicosia had at least two copies of these "explosive" files cached in two, different, secure places. If he did not, how dumb is that?

The efforts to reveal Kerry's lies, deceipt, mendacity and his use of really dirty tricks are all part of the vast right wing conspiracy. It is good to know that the traditional neocommunist media will not participate by covering any of these facts.
This is especially true with respect to the fake awards he claims to have earned during his summer vacation in Nam or the terrible stuff in his medical records, information that, had it been made public, not even the Mass. voters would have elected him. Facts regarding the illegal aliens usually employed in his palaces and sent out of the US for the rest of the year have also been placed in the "no-report-zone" so as to counter the right wing conspiracy.

I don't buy this. The documents are available to anyone who wants to file for them, and they can't steal them all.
I also doubt that the information is as shocking as we want it to be, because there is no way they could hope to bury it. Plus the LA Times has seen some of the files, and I think their allegiance to Clinton would inspire them to come out with it. Not to mention the fact that they know someone else will print it, and having sat on it will cost them big time.
My guess is that the shocking facts relate to the degree of FBI surveillance.

Kerry has come under intense scrutiny for his shady past as a radical Vietnam War protester... He has? On FR maybe. In a major daily newspaper? On a television news program?

I sure wish he had made copies and stored them elsewhere.
How many times has this type of activity been done by others to not have a back-up plan?

Kerrys brother Cameron and another Kerry campaign aide were arrested for having broken into the headquarters of at least one of Kerrys opponents. Oh, I get it now....when Kerry said, "These guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group of people I've ever seen....it's scary!" ..........Kerry was talking about HIS group of supporters...makes sense now.
