I don't buy this. The documents are available to anyone who wants to file for them, and they can't steal them all.
I also doubt that the information is as shocking as we want it to be, because there is no way they could hope to bury it. Plus the LA Times has seen some of the files, and I think their allegiance to Clinton would inspire them to come out with it. Not to mention the fact that they know someone else will print it, and having sat on it will cost them big time.
My guess is that the shocking facts relate to the degree of FBI surveillance.

I agree that anyone can put in an FOIA request for the documents. But the FBI has a record of stalling on such requests, sometimes for years, and then handing over documents with all the vital facts blacked out. Would they hand them over before the July convention? Before the November election? No way to tell until someone tries it.
