Young people have been killing themselves over break-ups, depression, and so on for eons. It seems a stretch to take this one recent example as alleged evidence that "we've ended up with a society" that is "spiritually hollow".
No doubt.I would hazard a guess however,that it has not been in the plague like proportions of today.

Alleged evidence? You don't think a person killing themselves over this is real and proper evidence of someone who is spiritually hollow?
As far as the society we've ended up with being spiritually hollow this is but one piece of the evidence obviously.I was making a broad statement that this case pointed to (which I think most on this thread would have understood).
For one such as yourself who appears to hold strongly to a naturalistic explaination of all things,I find it strange you would entertain the idea of a spiritual anything.
