A Message for Fallujah

The world is used to bad news and always has been, but now and then there occurs something so brutal, so outside the normal limits of what used to be called man's inhumanity to man, that you have to look away. Then you force yourself to look and see and only one thought is possible: This must stop now. You wonder, how can we do it? And your mind says, immediately: Whatever it takes.

If it were a journalist, why didn't the mob turn on them?

For maximum effect, they didn't want it to be just a local story, but to horrify as many as inhumanly possible.

Who took the film footage and the photos? If it were a journalist, why didn't the mob turn on them?

I heard that it was a journalist and that the mob ASKED him to record it all so the world could see it. I suspect they were quite proud of their atrocity and wanted Americans to "learn their lesson."

I, for one, am really angry about this. What kind of ungrateful pigs are we trying to help?

I'd be interested in the response from our brave Marines sent to pacify that barbaric Iraqi backwater.

The hell with the bridge, blow up the town.

Terminate them all, with extreme predjudice!

When Islam takes the last city, you will be given a choice: a prayer rug or a coffin.

Yes, we've heard so many good and positive things coming out of Iraq concerning how grateful so many have been for their liberation. How do we and they sort it all out with such grave brutality like this latest?

At that point, I'd gladly take the coffin.

The fools in Fallujah haven't figured out that the only thing keeping them alive is us stopping the rest of the country from coming in and slaughtering them for being Saddam's buddies.

Not only sick, but stupid.

Fallujah. I am tired of reading this name because I know what I will read next. At least six months ago I proposed the following: No warning, no diplomacy. Surround it. Start at one end and force every damn one of the fallujahns into the desert. Search each one, photograph them, fingerprint them. Here have a tent. Sit down, shut up.

Search every inch of the town. Find evidence of insurgency? Blow it up and arrest the owners. Oh, one other thing - anytime some damn crowd is desecrating the bodies of our guys trying to bring civilization to these maggots - I recommend a MOAB artfully place in the center of the mob.

I do truly hope our military understands that there MUST be a serious response to this atrocity. :-(

YES! Then a good twelve hours of carpetbombing for a square mile around that.

From the article: It is not a stretch to imagine the young murderers of Fallujah had this on their minds: Do it again to America, kill them and string up their corpses, because when you do this America leaves. And so this time the response must be the opposite of the response in Mogadishu.

Peggy speaks for me here.

They call us "The great Satan" yet if we were what they claimed we are they'd simply be no more in a few flashes of light without a single loss of an American life. It would be over before it began.

It is well within our power to do so.

It is not within our character to do so.

And there lies the difference between them and us.

What kind of ungrateful pigs are we trying to help?

Perhaps we made a mistake in ridding Iraq of Saddam. Perhaps he had the right idea about how to handle his people. Fortunately, there is doubless no shortage of Saddam replacements in Iraq, eager to resume the brutality. All we need to do is pick the one we can best manage from a long distance.

Actually, I doubt that we will be given that choice and will be lucky to get a coffin. Our fates will resemble those 4 who were murdered in Fallujah. Unless we do it to them first.

That's the plan!

It is not within our character to do so.
sure it is.
when we are ready to go nagasaki or dresden on them, we will do just that.

we just aren't ready yet.
how do I know it is within our character?
Because my parents, uncles and cousins did it in WW2.
I am my father's son... and all my nephews and some neices are in the military today.

As far as my take on the WW2 generation's moral clarity: Thank God they fried the enemy to ashes! It saved massive numbers of American lives, and Japanese soldiers, and German ones too.

Sometimes the most merciful thing you can do, in the long run, is to go dresden on them in the short run.

We will not long tolerate this type of behavior.
- a few more events away, will be all it takes.

I can go with that. Just for good measure. B@stards. :-(
