President Bush's re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee yesterday accused Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry's campaign formally of illegal coordination of political advertising with anti-Bush groups and donors, including billionaire George Soros.

"Senator Kerry, who supported the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act, is now the beneficiary of the single largest conspiracy to violate campaign-finance laws in history," RNC Chief Counsel Jill Holtzman Vogel said yesterday at a press conference with Bush campaign and other RNC officials.

"They are making a mockery of the rules established during a long and arduous debate," Marc Racicot, chairman of the Bush campaign, said yesterday.

No, they are making a mockery of the first amendment! Can't we get a grip here? Rules? Do democrats EVER play by a set of RULES?????

an exceedingly stupid fight, at the wrong time, on the wrong suject, in the wrong forum, on the wrong theory--G.W. Bush has surrounded himself with a bunch of election campaign morons. These ancillary squabbles gain him absolutely nothing, all they accomplish is a waste of time, money and manhours.

Republicans say the ads aired at about the same time that Mr. Kerry's campaign made its ad buys. One Media Fund ad included items in Mr. Kerry's tax plan before he made them public.

Well now. Wonder how THAT happened?

Can't stop myself from saying it - President Bush, a VETO would have been better... I pray that someday a true Supreme Court will go back and look at this travesty of a campaign finance "reform" law.

"Providing that money would be a crime on the donor's part. The law carries stiff financial penalties and incarceration for violators."

Soros should spend his last days in a prison cell without marijuana.

Exactly so. Well said.

Let the Marxists destroy themselves, and spend NO political capital whatever in an effort to ''expose'' them.

Of course, we both (I assume) know why the 'Pubbies are raising a stink; the 'Rats aren't playing by the stated rules. However, since they never do, why start complaining now? Just keep advertising Ketchup Boy's voting record (how simple is that, eh?).

FReegards!

Bush signed the CFR law only as quid pro quo for John McCain. Now the cows have come home. He never should have signed it in the first place.

The legislative and judicial branches played a very stupid game of chicken with the Supreme Court and the Court called their bluff.

Some great person once said that "the executive branch has the army, the legislative brance holds the pursestrings, but the Supreme Court has magic.

The Supreme Court can't risk taking the fall for the other two branches. McCain and the liberal media should be shot at dawn for creating this constitutional crises.

The ultimate leader was President Bush, and this is one thing I lay at his door. I understand your point about the SC, however, pushed or not, they OK'd something in in blatant contradiction to our constituion. Bad job all the way round, IMHO. :(
