Reagan said the U.S. would not surrender, but Democrats threw a hissy fit, introducing a resolution demanding that our troops be withdrawn. Reagan caved in to Democrat caterwauling in an election year and withdrew our troops ? bombing Syrian-controlled areas on the way out. Democrats complained about that, too.

I'd like to know more about this, especially about the "resolution". Was it passed?

Nice & tough rhetoric, but has al-Quida been eliminated yet? It has morphed now that a lot of it's original leaders have been captured or killed. They lost their safe haven in Afghanistan. But, I can't realy say they have been eliminated.

The fight has been engaged - and we still have a long way to go before al-Quida is erased from the face of the earth.

Driving forward while looking in the rear view mirror is very dangerous indeed. The important things in the battle are still in front of us. Re-hashing the mistakes of the past might make you feel better about trashing political opponents. But, we as Americans need to pull together - drop the blame game and finger pointing. We can't change what has gone before (learn from it yes), but we need to be spending more time looking for solutions in the future.
