"Bush came into office telling his national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, he was "tired of swatting flies" – he wanted to eliminate al-Qaida."

Nice & tough rhetoric, but has al-Quida been eliminated yet? It has morphed now that a lot of it's original leaders have been captured or killed. They lost their safe haven in Afghanistan. But, I can't realy say they have been eliminated.

The fight has been engaged - and we still have a long way to go before al-Quida is erased from the face of the earth.

He also told Ms Rice that the battle with Al Qa'ida would take many years. He was right about both.

"yet"

There were probably 50,000 of them when we started - and we've eliminated 2/3 of them by death or jail. Isn't that good enough for you ..??

And .. because we haven't gotten them all yet - do you think we should stop ..??

So why do the lying crooked liberals refuse to join the war?
Why does it appear that these liberals are on the same side as the terrorists?

Yes, but it has been engaged by Bush, unlike the previous 8 Clinton years which John Kerry holds up as HIS model for how to wage the War on Terror.

No one said it has or that this fight won't be a long one. That is why re-election of Bush is an absolute necessity for the security of the nation and good of the world.

AQ is like the Hydra. "One of Hercules' great tasks was to kill this monster. When he started to fight it, he discovered that every time he cut off one of the heads, three grew back in place of it." It will take awhile, but he is working on it. The President never saidd it would be quick.

I agree with you.

However, I heard on the news a few days ago (not CNN, obviously) that the top Al Queda guy in custody said they had plans for follow up attacks after 9-11, but the response was so drastic that they were never able to carry them out. That says an aweful lot about how effective our targeting is, despite the obvious lapses in intelligence.
