Baseball fans, draw near. President and Mrs. Bush hosted a luncheon for baseball's Hall of Fame members and new inductees in the State Dining Room at the White House. (Mr. Bush will throw out the first pitch on Monday in St. Louis.)
Laura Bush continued hosting Marta Sahagun de Fox, wife of Mexican President Vicente Fox, as the two First Ladies visited Martha's Table, an organization that helps low-income and homeless children, families and individuals in Washington. They packaged sandwiches for distribution and read a book in English and Spanish to children in a bilingual day-care class.
In an unwitting effort to carry on the cherry tree vs. magnolia tree controversy from yesterday's Dose, Mrs. Bush met with the 2004 Cherry Blossom Princesses in the East Room of the White House.

That opus is for someone with a sterner disposition and a stronger stomach than mine.
I could not look at, sift through, caption, and post photos of the man, his wife, and his mug. Makes my skin crawl thinking 'bout it.

NO idea, BG. We haven't heard a word since Sunday.
It's not looking good for the weekend.
We need some prayers for the HEART of a certain person in authority. That's all I can say.

Official cap said he was loosening up his pitching arm. It's a cute snapshot.

U.S. authorities escort a handcuffed, middle-aged man into custody on the grounds of the White House in Washington D.C., late March 31, 2004. The man was taken into custody by plain clothed authorities for unknown reasons, just 10 minutes after U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) returned to the White House from a fundraising event. PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN THROUGH METAL BARS REUTERS/Jason Reed

It does not give the reason for his arrest. My guess is he assaulted the officers eyes by having to look at his ugleeeee kisser.

With 3 hours difference, prayer time on Left Coast should be 5:30 A.M. or before ?

Good idea! I shall do so. There is actually a secondary thread on the poll itself now. I put mine up early this afternoon and a fellow freeper - who happens to be on the same tag team as I - put up another.
W currently polling in at 51.7%!

My dad was a great flower person. He loved to grow them as well as vegetables. His favorites were roses - the most beautiful and fragrant I have ever seen or smelled. The "peace" rose was his most favorite. But the other flowers he loved were sweet peas. He used to string the lattice across one whole side of our garage. When they bloomed, it was like a whole carpet of blues and purples - devastatingly breathtaking; and the aroma - it was something.
We had our entire fence on the other side of the house covered with honeysuckle. I think that's why I chose that apartment because it reminded me of home.
All my plants have died this winter - I have a lanai on the back of my apartment where I had about 6 plants - I've had them a couple of years - but all of a sudden this year they didn't make it through the colder weather. Bummer!
