Baseball fans, draw near. President and Mrs. Bush hosted a luncheon for baseball's Hall of Fame members and new inductees in the State Dining Room at the White House. (Mr. Bush will throw out the first pitch on Monday in St. Louis.)
Laura Bush continued hosting Marta Sahagun de Fox, wife of Mexican President Vicente Fox, as the two First Ladies visited Martha's Table, an organization that helps low-income and homeless children, families and individuals in Washington. They packaged sandwiches for distribution and read a book in English and Spanish to children in a bilingual day-care class.
In an unwitting effort to carry on the cherry tree vs. magnolia tree controversy from yesterday's Dose, Mrs. Bush met with the 2004 Cherry Blossom Princesses in the East Room of the White House.

If you were following the title and purpose of this daily thread, you would understand that those of us who post it don't edit the news of the President's day to exclude what he does if there are bad things going on in the world.

Gezzz, in light of what happened to our people earlier and the brutal images being shown nationwide tonight, you think it's a good time to be posting pictures of Bush at a luncheon with baseball players? Cripes......
Bad timing I would say.

That may be. But if you want to keep posting pictures of Bush at a luncheon with Baseball players today of all days, be my guest.

Sweet peas. Oh, yeah.
People don't seem to plant them anymore. I miss the old-fashioned gardens. My old auntie had stuff in her backyard ... I don't remember her even doing much with it, but it grew anyway; hollyhocks and old timey stuff you just couldn't kill.
But the sweet peas reminded me of my mother. She was a gardener and always had stuff blooming. She had a specially great sweet pea crop every year, all along a long fence. I loved those flowers. Haven't seen them in years.

Glad to see you here!
RE: Allergies--I have hayfever too, but I just can't bear to be inside (as they recommend to reduce the allergies) at this beautiful time of year. A little sneezing and wheezing is worth being outside!
P.S. Who was driving? You or your mom? Bet you two made a wonderful sight, with the top down . . . :-) Blessings and peace to you.

It's not too cold there to have that kind of tree? You're probably as far north as we are . . . maybe I can get one someday--they're beautiful!

I have to reply to your ill-considered criticism.
What did you do today? Did you keep your commitments, even frivolous ones?
Our service people are in danger every day and our President is aware of it every minute.
Please don't begrudge him the time to enjoy a few minutes with a group who had already been invited because a horrible thing happened today.

........... Can you all smell the envy in this Yahoo caption?
President George W Bush waits be to introduced at a Bush-Cheney 2004 fundraiser in Washington D.C., March 31, 2004. Bush's lavish campaign fund-raising drive neared its record-shattering climax at a Washington hotel where over 1,000 Bush supporters forked over $1.5 million for a salmon dinner. (Jason Reed/Reuters)

You're certainly chipper tonight . . . :-) Almost like you've had a really, really happy event happen recently and more happy days are on the way . . . :-)
(Just teasing you; I've been so happy for your family and mystery and Mike, I've just been smiling all day. The power of prayer is sooooo evident!)

This thread has shown pictures of the President's daily activities for over 3 years.
The timing is just fine. It is you who have the problem, Joe.........a big one.

No altura. Joe doesn't think the President has the right to ever have a good time, because Joe hates the President.
Joe has a BIG problem, and he'd better leave us alone here, or he'll be banned again.

Gretchen, you said in a post a week or two ago that you take probiotics for your sinus problems. I started taking it this week in addition to some herbs that I was already taking. It does seem to be helping. My sinus problems are better. The sinus causes heartburn which is the worst at night when I try to sleep. I was up several times a night to take something for heartburn. Since I started taking the probiotics, I've been able to sleep better with less nighttime heartburn.
Is there anything else that you take for sinus problems?
BTW thanks for posting the dose tonight, I'm enjoying the pictures.

I think it's wonderful how Laura got this together for her and Mexico's First Lady. They seem to enjoy a true rapport that I suspect goes a long way to softening some strained international policy relations between El Presidente Fox and President Bush.
