I looked, too. We always try to be fair. We removed Affleck after he went to see the troops. He's since managed to stay off the list.

I searched and could find nothing about his feelings about the war on terrorism.

I can't see the current list, but I remember it from when we talked before... before you required registration.... It was too long then to reasonably keep track of. Keeping it short would be more effective in impacting the worst offenders.

So I don't place the bar quite as high as you, I think some of the comments that get someone on the list are petty.... but I appreciate your mission.

What I responded to as much as anything is the tendency to name-call anyone on this forum who questions your edicts... And to be fair, you haven't done that this time yet. I don't ignore or endorse the comments of Viggo Mortenson, for example, but I tend to see the big picture in films like LOTR, where there is a great message to the film, and good people and good work done in it that outweigh the 'bad' deeds of a couple of those involved. A reasoned approach from someone who very much enjoys something that you are telling people to boycott.

We're not allowed to disagree with the president if we're in a war? Even if the president is wrong? So since the war on terror isn't going to end by Jan 20, 2005 are you prepared to fully support Kerry if he wins, never disagreeing with anything he says, never pointing out that you can't trust a serial filanderer, not protesting when he raises taxes and seeks to punish the rich? Since we really were involved in this war on terror since the Iran Hostage Crisis by this logic all of FR's attacking of Clinton was wrong, we were at war then even though very few of us realized it.

Sometimes presidents are wrong, even during a war. Nothing about the office or the times bestows infalibility.

Funny image.... but a bizarre thing for someone to say about me. I am a woman, but no tattoo, 'beer' or otherwise.

I guess we all have our opinions...

Do you think wearing a UN pin over a US flag pin to the Oscars is being petty?

Or signing the NION statement?

Or telling your fans that this is a "war for oil"?

I don't think any of them are petty, as they send a message to their fans worldwide. Celebs have had a huge role in fanning the flames of anti-Americanism around the globe...

Our bar is pretty basic, bash the country that gives you so much, you go on the list. The list is for others to be aware of who said and did what.

We all, of course, are free to do as we please. I simply feel loyalty to my country is more important than a film. I'm the biggest Star Wars fan around, but I won't pay to see the next one because of Samuel L. Jackson. But again, that's my opinion. It carries no more weight than the next person's. I only hope more people would agree with me. We're close to 2000 members, so I must be on to something.

Thanks for weighing in on the subject...It's an important one.

Don't put their words on me.

I appreciate your effort to keep track of what they do and say.... I don't have the attention span focus on it, and yours could be a good resource, if we didn't have to register at the site to see it.

Isn't James Woods anti-American for disagreeing with and speaking out against the last president?

Cool. They are a couple of friends of mine here in Nashville, TN. They are songwriters and very conservative. They did this song and got a pretty good response so decided they had enough songs to do a whole CD. They are supposed to be finishing up the CD this week. They are not signed on a lable, although one of them is a producer for Curb records. They are going to just sell it off of their web site. www.therightbrothers.com.

I've posted a few different things about them but I try not to do so too much because I don't want to come across as marketing for them on freerepublic. They are very sincere about their conservative beliefs. I am not a big country fan but it's neat to be able to listen to some decent stuff that I actually agree with.

"If we get hit with a nuke because of these imbeciles, Bush will be in his rights to declare martial law. If these people continue to impede America's defense they should be arrested and perhaps executed."

Well, the fact is We haven't been hit with a nuke.

But where do you set the bar for disagreeing with the President before we start executing people Jack?
