Sacramento -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was dogged during his campaign by allegations of sexual misconduct, said Tuesday in an interview that he voluntarily participated in a sexual harassment prevention course along with his senior staff after taking office.

"We all went through that a long time ago," Schwarzenegger said. "Absolutely. We all did."

Schwarzenegger and his wife are good friends with the presumptive Democratic nominee and his family. They have homes near each other in Sun Valley, Idaho, and go skiing and play hockey together, Schwarzenegger said.

Asked if he thought Kerry would make a good president, Schwarzenegger paused a long time before saying, "it's very hard to say."

"I've known John for a very long time, since 1977, when we were promoting 'Pumping Iron' in Boston," he said, referring to the documentary film. "He's a very respected guy. It's very hard to say. Being a Republican, I will be supporting George W. Bush in the race for president."

LOL... It's nice to know the lay of the land.

Schwarzenegger also reiterated that he would follow any court decision legalizing same-sex marriage. "Whatever the court rules, that is what we will go by," he said. "That is the new law."

I think Arnold gave thoughtful, careful answers. But the bit above jumped out at me. We now seem to have a society that believes Courts "legalize" things. That Court decision are "the new law".

I always thought that legislatures legalized things through the creation of new laws. Turns out the courts have that role. Who knew?
