I agree.
Put about a thousand troops in there with air and other assets like the big microwave thingy and cook them out.
When they come out, shoot them double tap style and get it done now.

Bush doesn't have the guts to do it and everyone knows it.
We're acting the same way the British acted with the American revolutionaries: We play by "the rules", they fight dirty. Recipe for casualties.
I'm disgusted by the timid Rules of emgagement.

Damit. My youngest son just came in earlier this evening and announced he is enlisting. My middle son finished his Marine hitch and now I have another on the way.

OK, I'm not onboard to shoot celebrators summarily and nuke Fallujah - neither action will be good for the ongoing effort to win over the hearts and minds of Iraqis.
Here's what I'd like to see, though...
Have Bremer and the new Iraqi council pass an interim law that says anyone not affiliated with ISC, the Iraqi Army, or coalition forces that approaches one of these sites before it is cleared is subject to 30 days in jail and a huge fine.
Then, next time it happens...
Strikers and Humvees with that new microwave "pain" ray surrounding the site. Zap everyone inside to "pacify" them without killing them. Arrest them all. Apply sentence.
I'm rather upset about more lost soldiers, though. I was just commenting to my wife how casualty rates had seemingly dropped dramatically as of late... :-(

I'd settle for that. But I wouldn't mind the whole town being walled off and daisy cutters dropped on it

Bush doesn't have the guts to do it and everyone knows it.There is no evidence of that.
We do know that they have been trying to round these folks up, but they must put a Iraqi face on it.
The recruits are signing up even though they are being killed while in line.
This is a real sad story for us and the Iraqi's.
I suspect we will hear something about a major sweep soon.

I have one thinking about going in as well.
I am fully supportive of this.
I see the consequences of our past inactions and the results of our efforts.
We are definitely doing the right thing, but it sure is costly.

Well I told him it was his decision and that I supported him. He is a levelheaded kid and he thinks things through. He has been considering this for over a year now. He goes for his physical next Monday.
