My fellow FReepers, from Colorado or elsewhere:
Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Representative Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) who, as you know, wrote the Federal Marriage Amendment now in debate. As you may also know, she stood up and talked back to her detractors at a Protect Marriage Rally in Denver, prompting a huge backlash from the gay community.
They are determined to defeat Hon. Musgrave at all costs, replacing her with a RINO or a Dimocrat (which is, she tells me, what happened last time someone proposed a marriage amendment). Bush, Campbell, Allard, and Owens endorse her, but that is not enough. She is due to report for her first round of fundraising TOMORROW and needs as good a showing as she can get to keep moving in her bid for re-election.
Visit her web site at http://www.musgrave2004.com/ and donate whatever you are able. It is for the good of both her campaign and the fight to save what's left of marriage and rebuild it.
In the e-mail, Musgrave included a scan of a very vulgar, obscene letter from a detractor in (no surprise) Berkeley. If you would like to see it, FReepmail me. It literally confirms what we've known all along: that these people will stop at nothing to silence Conservatives and would outlaw Confessional (read: any sort of meaningful) Christianity if they could.
The stakes have never been higher. Spread this message as fast as you can!
I went to prep school in Fort Collins. The only reason it leans further to the left than the rest of the county is because of CSU. There's plenty of conservatism elsewhere there.
Even most of my rebellious friends who became partyers after (or during) high school are still politically (and theologically, if not morally) conservative.
