Our emails, phone calls, letters got Terri's law passed in the first place.

That law is merely delaying things--it's likely to get thrown out as unconstitutional. And your communications on the topic did far less than a few people who worked quietly behind the scenes.

Had the case been handled competently to begin with, it wouldn't have been necessary. But the Terry Schiavo soap opera addicts refuse to do anything that will be effective; they've become enamored with the process to the exclusion of results.

We have gotten groups interested in her case that are doing something in the legal arena.

Any damn fool can do "something."

I haven't seen anyone doing anything effective.

Why you two bother with this thread, I don't know. If you want us to back off with our tails between our legs, you haven't accomplished your goal.

I've gotten some of FR's most self-righteous jerks overtorqued at me. I've more than accomplished my goal.

By judging your extreme reactions, we must be making a difference.

You're making a difference, all right. You're helping Michael Schiavo.

OK, I'll bite. Tell us, what would be effective for helping Terri?

"That law is merely delaying things--it's likely to get thrown out as unconstitutional."

It's not unconstitutional just because Felos says it is. How come the judges in Florida have said if you don't like the ruling, call your Congressman and change the law. That's what we did.

"And your communications on the topic did far less than a few people who worked quietly behind the scenes."

Tell that to Jim King. He wouldn't even allow it to come up for a vote, until we started swamping their offices. Democracy in action.

We weren't around in the beginning. Most of us have only heard of the case in the last six months or so.

"I haven't seen anyone doing anything effective."

It's not over yet. Terri's still alive.

"You're making a difference, all right. You're helping Michael Schiavo."

Isn't that your job?

How many months has it been? In spite of a starvation attempt and everything else --- Terri is still alive ---- months and months --- after everyone on the death side said she was terminal --- dying from pain, about to die any moment. Still she lives --- I think we all realize by now, someone is going to have to kill her to get her to die.

What have you done to help Terri? Have you produced results? Have you produced progress? Or have you just been banging your head against a wall because you can't convince her supporters to switch sides?
