Just wanted to post pictures of my new Baby Girl!
My wife was found to be suffering from Preeclampsia and the baby didn't have much amniotic fluid (would up even less!). Early delivery (32 weeks)was an absolute must for both Mommy and Baby.
Baby and Mommy are doing great!
Anna Elizabeth was born approximately 1:30 PM via C-section and weighs 3 lbs 11 oz.
Praise the Lord for the strenght he have us all and most especially to Baby Anna. Anna will get to come home when she reaches 4.5 lbs and is eating properly.
The Dr. is already backing off on the oxygen, as she is breathing very well on her own.
And the proud daddy with Baby Anna!

Just checking in to see how Baby Anna is doing. She looks wonderful.

Thanks for checking back - she's doing well.
Here is today's Anna Update
No weight gain....still at just over 3lbs 14 oz.
She is still totally on bottle, so the feeding tube hasnt gone back in.
She is a bit inconsistant (like us) in that one feeding she will take 40cc, then the next only 30cc, then the next feeding will be 45cc.....
We are looking for a more significant weight gain tomorrow morning as she has been doing the no gain/big gain thing for a week now....
You can definitely notice her fingers filling out not on a daily basis. You can somewhat see her fingers in the photos attached.
She is off her lung medicine (dont recall the name of it) that is related to insuring the immature lungs are functioning. Her lungs are doing their job...so no further need.

She is amazing. What a great little freeper she will be. I know you are looking forward to getting her home. With all the trouble in the world its great to be reminded of what really counts in life.

Thanks Pollywog -
I have very limited access to the net right now. This is the first time since 4/2 that I have even been able to check my email and I am on a library computer in Benton. I do not have any pics posted on the internet anywhere, but I did save some on disc for mailing out to close family and friends. I need a host site and more time to post them, or I can email some to you if you like. If so, FReepmail me your email address.
Take care!

Anna Update 4/20/2004
She is at 3 lbs 15.8 oz.
Now eating between 36 and 46cc per feeding.
IF she can continue today's gain, she could come home as early as this weekend! We are definately praying that this is possible.

She looks wonderful. Just look at how alert she is. Praying she puts the weight on so she can go home with you this weekend. Bet she makes it.

Anna Update 4/21/2004 And yet another day of good news!
Weight: 4 lbs. 1 oz.
Consistently taking 40+ cc. of milk, and half the time taking 50 cc!
She is growing more and more active and aware of her surroundings.
There is a very good chance that she has less than 1 week left in the hospital.

She is perfect and beautiful. I know your heart can't help but swell with pride. These tiny little wonders grow up before you know it.

I won't be posting an update tonight - we will be spending the night with Anna in the Hospital and then bringing her home tomorrow!
Of course I will post pictures and such as soon as I can.
Thank you so much for all the prayers and well wishes. They have all helped in so many ways.
Until I can get the next update posted (probably Saturday evening)....
Thanks!

We made it home A-Ok. We arrived home about 12:30PM.
They didnt weigh her or measure here length before we left. Dr. was thoroughly happy with Annas progress.
Was a LONG night last night! Anna decided she wanted to be irritable so she not only didnt eat as much as she normally does, she also decided to just be noisy.
She has done much better since then sleeping and eating. She also rode home VERY well we hardly heard a peep from her.
Diana is headed to her shower at the church, so I get to baby-sit my own daughter for a few hours! At least Dianas dad is here to help out.
