Tanker Flips, Blocks Interstate 95 In Flagler County
UPDATED: 1:07 PM EST March 29, 2004
PALM COAST, Fla. -- Interstate 95 in Flagler County was closed for about seven hours Monday after a tanker truck flipped on its side, blocking the southbound lanes and the exit for State Road 100, said Lt. Bill Leeper of the Florida Highway Patrol.
The semitrailer truck, carrying used oil, drifted off onto the right shoulder of the highway, overcorrected to the left, and then turned on its side about 5:05 a.m., Leeper said. It reopened about noon.
The driver of the truck, Robert Gorman, 36, of Jacksonville, received minor injuries.
Two cars crashed into the truck, but the drivers, Anthony Teta, 36, of Brandon, and Brandon Crotty, 30, of Claremont, escaped with minor injuries, Leeper said.
Southbound traffic was rerouted to U.S. 1, while northbound lanes remained open.

It's heavily traveled. Heck, I was just on 95 this afternoon from Baltimore to DC and passed two accidents that had just happened.
And this is a classic "attention effect" post. This was a fairly minor incident that never would have been posted on FR were it not for the previous spectacular accident in Connecticut.
