I have a novel idea. Let wages rise if the demand is high. Or citizens can start cutting their own grass, clean their own bathrooms, and start a vegetable in their backyards.
I do all that stuff myself. I did hire a local Vietnam vet to remove to huge trees from my yard. He quoted me a favorable price and I allowed him to work the job around his other groundskeeping appointments. I now have 4 cords of wood from the first tree. He's contracted to do the second tree now. He's taking classes on his GI bill benefits and will be taking the 2nd tree down as time permits in his class schedule. The only "rush" on the job is getting the tree down before it starts sucking water and leafing out.
Here is a little bit of the garden from last year. The bulbs are still coming up this year. Just a few blooms so far. No external gardening assistance is necessary.
Indeed--and the issue brings class-warfare to those not usually inclined to the economics of envy...
My own Inner Class-Warrior gets very hostile watching the rich folk hire in illegals because their MacMansions are too much for these folks to clean and mulch themselves--then they turn their heads away when the illegals stress our taxpayer-supported social services. I'd like to see Mrs. Trophy Wife arrested for employing illegals, and trade her Birken Bag for an orange jumpsuit....!
