The new Hamas leader in Gaza on Sunday called President Bush an enemy of Islam and said that "God declared war" against the United States and Israel -- but stopped short of saying the group would strike U.S. targets.

The Hamas chief, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, renewed threats to attack Israel in retaliation for the assassination of the group's founder, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, last week. He was addressing a Hamas rally at Gaza City's Islamic University.

Same God, different prophets

No way!

Their god asks them to sacrifice their sons, e.g. suicide bombers. My God sacrificed His only Son for us!

I've been wondering lately if the apostate religion talked about in Revelation could be Islam. But it doesn't really matter because I've read the end of the Book and know Who is going to win!

The rock they pray to may have declared war but god didn't.

I guess the State Department must have ben closed that day and didn't receive the message. You;d think the Almighty would have a better way of getting his message across.

I got news for Hamas -- George Bush declared war on you. Guess who's gonna win?

That the fece-eating illiterate paedophile 'god' of the Satanic cult of death and dismemberment has declared war aginst G-d, has been known for thousands of years.

That's all well and good, but one group of believers wants to kill all us non-believers. Your message will wash in the West but not with the Islamic fundamentalists. They would listen to you claim that we are all God's children and then slit your throat because we are descendants of pigs and apes as it says in the Koran.

Your message works fine as long as we defend ourselves.

PS I am one Republican who, while no fan of Bill Clinton, don't view him as the worst President in American history. That would go to Jimmy Carter. And my Dad, who is a Cold War Democrat certainly would not rate Clinton as the greatest American president. I find your analogy well-meaning but faulty. The fault line between Muslims and Christians is far greater and more serious than partisan splits in the US.

You completely missed the point.

Degrees of something are always arguable, but the point I was making was about perception. Even your argument that some people see Carter as a worse president than Clinton helps me prove my next point.

Not all Muslims want to kill all non-Muslims...we would be having a much larger, world encompassing problem if that were the case.

The reason that is, is because this is far from being a religious conflict; religion is being used to incite passions.

This is a geopolitical issue, completely emanating from a very specific region of the world, and fought by shadow armies of assassins.

This isn't about religion, this is about an old way of life (Islam in the Middle East), and the encroachment of Western culture endangering the old power structures.

Your statement is blasphemous.

There is only one God.

To claim that they believe in some other God, is to acknowledge the existence of some other God.

If your basic statement of the difference between the two Gods were true, then the Jews would also be worshiping another God.

Muslims do not know the full extent of God, they follow the teachings of a man instead of the Word.

Ever heard of sarcasm? Please, also notice that I referred to their god with a lower case g, but I referred to ours as God, upper case G. Doesn't that tell you anything? I applaud your zeal defending God's name, but next time read a post at least twice before flaming somebody!

I didn't miss the point. I completely don't agree with your point. We have a "larger, world encompassing problem". From the Bali bombings in Indonesia to the bombings in Madrid to the bombing of the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires". We are in a global war with a dominant strain of Islam.

If you don't think this is about religion, then you don't understand Osama Bin Laden, you don't understand your enemy. This is about reconquering Europe for Islam and killing those who don't want to convert.

This is definitely not about Western encroachment on their way of life. The Islamo-fascists hate the existing old power structures almost as much as they hate the power structures.

I still think your Clinton analogy doesn't make sense in this context at all.

"We are in a global war with a dominant strain of Islam."

Not a dominant strain of Islam at all, the adherents total less than ten percent of all Muslims, even by the most aggressive estimates.

"If you don't think this is about religion, then you don't understand Osama Bin Laden

if you believe that Usama bin Laden can lead a Muslim Holy War, then YOU don't understand the enemy.

As a Muslim, Usama bin Laden can no more call or lead a Muslim religious war, than I as a Roman Catholic can canonize Mother Teresa.

Luis

"dominant strain' is a biological term that does not imply majority, it implies a strain that is stronger and growing faster than other strains. It eventually conquers the other strains. I think this describes Islamic fundamentalism perfectly with the funding that Saudi Arabia has provided for Wahabbist mosques all over the world.

if you believe that Usama bin Laden can lead a Muslim Holy War, then YOU don't understand the enemy.

He has got a lot of support from ayatollahs, mullahs and imams throughout the world, does he not? He is off to a good start. Next you are going to tell me that Islam is a religion of peace.

Roy

"Next you are going to tell me that Islam is a religion of peace."

Roy, if you're going to be an a**hole about this "discussion", then go be one with someone else; if you're going to play fortune teller, hang one of those shingles with the palm drawing over your door.

If you're going to discuss the current issue with radical Islam, then drop the BS slogans, and the crap you've been fed, and we'll talk, otherwise I'm busy now.

That "strain" seems to have already conquered you, you're giving them gravitas and support that they don't have.

There are nearly a billion Muslims in the world, Usama's support at best totals 10% of them.

Is that a lot of people?

Yes.

Are they all going to war with Christendom?

If they haven't by now, then they won't.

Usama and the radicals are doing everything in their power to create a world-wide war of religions...they're failing.

Instead, they're now having to kill their own to maitain power through fear.

Does that sound like an enemy on the rise?

Not at all.

How does it help prove your point Luis? I searched in vain for that proof.. But in any case, Nixon was arguably the worse president.

Not all Muslims want to kill all non-Muslims...we would be having a much larger, world encompassing problem if that were the case.

Give the situation time, luis. -- We've barely begun to fight.

The reason that is, is because this is far from being a religious conflict; religion is being used to incite passions.

Yes it is. - Which makes it a religious issue, and the next logical step means a religious conflict.

This is a geopolitical issue, completely emanating from a very specific region of the world, and fought by shadow armies of assassins.

We hope.. I've seen no assurance that we can continue to contain it as such.

This isn't about religion, this is about an old way of life (Islam in the Middle East), and the encroachment of Western culture endangering the old power structures.

It is about religion AND the old way of life AND about our encroachments..
-- And you, along with many others, are whistling in the dark that we can put the cork back in the jihadic bottle.

So am I...

"We knew that Bush is the enemy of God, the enemy of Islam and Muslims," Rantisi told the crowd. "America declared war against God. Sharon declared war against God and God declared war against America, Bush and Sharon."

"The war of God continues against them and I can see the victory coming up from the land of Palestine by the hand of Hamas," he said.

The fact that Hamas declared war against the two most powerful nations in the world, Israel and the United States, proves that he is totally clueless as to the power both nations possess. We could obliterate every Muslim country in the world instantly just by pushing a few buttons.

He can pray to Allah-satan all he wants because the ONLY TRUE GOD, the GOD of the Christians and Jews is NOT going to help Muslims. ALL of them will stand before God to give account for the evil they have done. God will NOT be mocked, so when they stand before Him in judgment, He*s going to take revenge. He will let them know they messed up BIG TIME. Until that time, I have lots of happiness just knowing that day*s coming. LOL!
