Cameras on private property. The ultimate cure for property crimes.

Cameras on public property. And important defence against terrorism. Though more controversial.

Casual burglaries will be driven to nothing by this technology. Rural burglaries will be eliminated, because the burglars will know they can be apprehended before they get away.

More and more cameras are catching more and more criminals. Modern technology at its best.

"The (suspect) did have a falling out with his parents and was looking for a place to stay," Jorgensen said.

Problem solved.

I visited NC recently from FL and was riding with my sister. We came to a light that suddenly turned yellow, and she slammed on the brakes, coming to a screeching halt. After I scraped myself off the dashboard, I got all over her case, pointing out that she had plenty of time to make the yellow. Her response?

Red Light Cameras...

The fear of these things have so permeated the area that I was amazed. If anything like that came to FL, the localities would make millions, as running yellow/reds is a way of life down here....

Good thing or bad thing? Personally, I hate the thought of it.

Red light cameras cause accidents as your sister almost proved to you. What would have happened if someone was following her and expecting her to run the yellow?

Agreed. Had someone been following and not paying attention, they probably would have been in our trunk. It's back tot he old addage:

If the people won't control themselves, the government will...
