What's John O'Neill doing now? He's from Texas.Lawyer in Houston. He may be retired now, I forget. C-SPAN interviewed him (and Cavett) briefly by phone before they started playing the tape.

He is whining because he thinks the 'equal time' Cavette set is unfair. It's his right, after all he IS a Democrat.

Wasnt there a John O'Neill that was a terrorist expert in the FBI that was killed on 911 in the Twin Towers? Is this the same person? Never mind...I'll answer myself after a Google Search. Not the same person.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
And if O'Neill's not a freeper, why isn't he???
He's just so well-spoken, and articulate, when facing this dumb JFK idolizer.
To: Eva
John O'Neill graduated from Annapolis -- US Naval Academy. I knew him quite well in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was a college debater and he served in Vietnam. He found this experience with Kerry very difficult -- hard to keep advancing the truth when Kerry was so slick, so ready to flip-flop, so willing to play to the popular anti-war leftist emotion of the times. We should seek out John O'Neill today and get him re-involved. He served his country honorably, both in Vietnam and at home, unlike John Kerry (who won't release his military file or his FBI file from his VVAW days).

Aah, Kerry was a smug, arrogant bastard even back then. His answering of what war crimes were committed is scumbag weasel at best - he's saying that the fact that they were in a free-fire zone inandofitself was a war crime. But he doesn't mention specifics. A--hole!

I noticed he directed the "we should try to keep personalities out of it" to O'Neill when O'Neill was sticking to dry facts.
And HERE Kerry goes and makes a personal dig against O'Neill.
I can't take much more.
Kerry says regarding the term "war crimes" that "we aren't throwing that out lightly".
O'Neill asks him why he didn't report or get out if he saw something?
O'Neill served 18 months, not 4, he points out, and presses to more. Kerry says "IN a free fire zone"? O'Neill says yes and Kerry acts like O'Neill is lying.
Kerry: Yes we did participate in war crimes in free fire zones.
Kerry asks him if he ever saw anything. O'Neill says he was on a raid and Kerry acts again like O'Neill is lying. He says "and you never burned a village?" and O'Neill says "NO" and goes on to describe a village that just wanted to be free.

Hostile audience. Cavett claimed they distributed tickets equally to both orgs. (But I wasn't clear if there were additional walk-ins.) Likely the pro-Kerry crowd is just louder, more obnoxious and ill behaved.

I little interruption, if I may. Here's Drudge's latest:
http://www.drudgereport.com/rc.htm XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN MARCH 28, 2004 19:03:28 ET XXXXX
SOURCES: CLARKE 'TO EARN OVER $1 MILLION FOR BOOK'; CONTRACT: BONUSES ADDED
**Exclusive**
Former counterterrorism chief Richard Clarke is on track to earn over $1 million in cash advance and royalties for his controversial book AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, publishing sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
"Mr. Clarke's six-figure advance will soon turn into a seven-figure compensation, if sales continue at this pace," a top source at Clarke's imprint SIMON & SCHUSTER reveals.
"Astonishingly, we are already approaching a point where the advance paid to Mr. Clarke is covered."
AGAINST ALL ENEMIES sold more than 140,000 unites in its first week, a second publishing insider claims.
Publicly, SIMON & SCHUSTER has refused to reveal specifics of its contract with Clarke, citing business privilege.
But an insider explains how the contract called for bonuses to be paid to Clarke for "hitting The [NYT bestsellers] List" in its debut, a contact clause common in publishing.
"There are bonuses for each week the book remains on the charts," the source, who demanded anonymity, explains.

The John O'Neill who was a terrorist expert and was killed in the WTC -- also with ties to Richard Clarke -- was a different person from this John O'Neill who debated Kerry so honorably.

Kerry is a pompous, traitorous coward. I'm having a real difficult time watching this, I am now praying for the brave souls who gave their lives in Vietnam, only to be trashed by this man. How in the WORLD is this man a presidential candidate?????
Kerry: "We put on our "khaaaakis"".....unbelievable.
