WOULD EVERYONE PLEASE JUST SHUT UP?

I'm on the west coast, haven't seen the interview (and wont) but here we go again with the negativity, and I am getting sick of it.

You all seem to have expected Condi to draw blood, and that was not the point. The point was to go on the record refuting Clarke. It was not intended to be a slam-dunk on Clarke, just to get the other side in. From what I hear, the White House is fine with the interview.

Learn to manage your expectations, so you don't read like a bunch of losers whenever things don't go your way. Consider what is at stake here. When you folks go off whining about the administration not making you feel better from day-to-day, you only encourage the other side. We need to be more practical, people. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Let the process play out.

How many times do I have to remind you that the Bush Administration has whipped the Democrats every time. Why do you let your moods shift every time some Liberal asshole does a hit-piece on our people. Did you ever expect different? Do you think the Administration is so stupid as to not know what they were walking into?

If you think 60 Minutes scored some points, ask yourself why you did not see promo after promo reminding people to tune in for the slaughter? I would remind all of you that your words are on display world wide. I haven't even seen it, but I can tell you by the lack of media coverage, Condi did just fine.

The media wants to deliver Condi to the 911 families, so they can heckle her, blame her as NSA for the attack. They want that video, and they are not going to get it. Condi WILL NOT testify publicly, so get over it.

Stop expecting home runs.

Just look at the scoreboard on November 2nd.

Above all else, STOP WHINING LIKE LOSERS AS IF THE MEDIA CONTROLS YOUR VERY THOUGHTS.

i see people here expressing what they believe is their truthful opinions on what they saw. hiding, or lying to ourselves, is not going to help.

in fact, that's how the white house gets into these problems to begin with, they delude themselves into thinking the media is going to be fair to them.

I am so glad you said this.

Condi did just fine. I was reading these disparaging posts and thought I was at DU for a moment.

I do think Bradley badgered her a bit. I suspect that ole Ed wanted to look like a tougher than nails Journalist and wasn't about to take no stuff.

It was only a 12 minute interview, but we don't know, maybe that's all Condi wanted.

The best response Condi gave was the one that had to get out there. Forget all the rest. Yeah, Ed asked her the silly "more attacks after 9/11 than before". She zinged him good with her reply that with each attack the terrorists got braver, that they figured we had no fight. She also mentioned how we ran from Somalia. She was able to list the attacks and the truth was on her side. With each attack they got more vicious.

Ed asked her again about the less attacks before 9/11 than after and Condi said "They know we're at war with them."

What Dem could have given a more perfect answer?

John Q and Mary Soccer Mom understand this. My assessment is America went away from that interview glad the adults are in charge.

I used to do a post about Bush that went something like this:

"George W. Bush is stupid? Who says?" The I'd start with Ann Richards and make a huge list of people "W" has outsmarted or basically beat the snot out of. The list is too long to do now.

I watched this "interview". She did just fine considering the snake pit she was in. I hope that she had her own camera people there or has a copy of the unedited interview.

What a fine woman to have working for us. How lucky we are that she would even put up with smarmy little homos like Richard Clark or Ed Bradley.

"W" is going to beat the crud out of John Kerry (if he does not become too sick to run) or whoever else the Demnumbnuts run against him.

Why do I say this? Because at every tick of the clock THIS MEDIUM (the Internet) become more powerful while the "old school" like CBS become less powerful.

Some people seem so down here. I don't know why. Things look pretty good to me overall. As I stand here, at the ground zero of conservative American politics, at a place called FreeRepublic. Yea, this is ground zero. And as long as FreeRepublic is here knowledge is power! And we become more powerful every day!

I understand your words and respect and the thoughts behind them.

It was deeply disappointing to see a chance for Condi Rice to make a two sentence statement regarding the many, many Iraq/AQ connections and she didn't do it. Doing it would have accomplished two objectives.

It would have shown Clarke to be a liar when he said there is no such connection. And it would stiffen the resolve of the American people when it comes to casualities in Iraq.

That is my primary complaint about the interview. She was given a golden opportunity and didn't take it. IF they edited something important like that away, I expect her to give a press conference regarding the matter tomorrow morning. I rather doubt that's what happened. Also, I expect the administration to wise up and demand more control of interview settings, questions, etc. in the future.

That said, I appreciate your optimism and expect you are are correct in just about everything you said.

I think that's a big part of it, but I think they also want to drive her out of office, so they can use her corpse to flog the Bush Administration from now until November. The media and the Rats are nothing more than hyenas, and just like hyenas they cut the weak and vulnerable out of the herd and prey on them - they don't attack the strong. Right now Dr. Rice looks wounded and weak, so they're snapping at her heels.

Dr. Rice has gotten the worst of this behind her, IMHO. The media and Kerry will bay about it for a few more days, but at this point all she has to do is hang tough and this thing will blow itself out, and then the hyenas will move on. There are some signs already that Kerry and the media have overplayed their hand once again - did you notice the statement that Lee Hamilton, the Rat vice-chairman of the 9/11 commission, made this morning?

He came out and basically said that the commission was looking at other administrations besides Bush's, trying to reassure people that the report was going to be objective and fair. THAT tells me that the commission's getting more than a few angry calls and letters from people who see this thing for what it is - an investigative panel that has been hijacked by the Rats for the sole purpose of digging up political ammo to use against President Bush in the election. A survey that came out earlier today shows that twice as many people think that Clarke is acting for political gain than think he's doing this out of any crisis of conscience. This is what the Administration needs to use to make its case, and the first thing they can do to use it is to tell this kangaroo court that is hectoring Dr. Rice to offer herself up for slaughter to go and f**k itself.

It would be more of a hatchet job than 60 Minutes just did on her.

The White House needs to stop cooperating with the networks, however. No more Collin Powell on Face the Nation, etc. Go over their heads like Reagan did, because they have NO intention of giving the Bush administration a fair shake.

You're right, of course - this is a marathon, not a sprint. We need to be in the trenches, sharpening our bayonets and checking our weapons, not worrying about the taunts of the enemy from across no man's land.

When are we going to learn that no matter what a conservative does, no matter how wonderful they do their job - the left with twist, lie, distort to diffuse the message of conservatives. And this MEANS ABC, CBS, NBC and the liberal media.

There is nothing in the world we can do to avoid their attacks BUT - DO WE HAVE TO INCREASE THE POWER OF THEIR ATTACKS by replaying the attack over and over on all the conservative talk shows, by allowing the dems to control what we do and allowing them to use terrorist tactics to control us?

All of the flack and distortion - so all of us are wanting Condi to testify in public. Great - this takes away one of the safeguards for the Bush administration and gives more power to the dems.

They cannot edit every word she utters and people are smarter than the Dems think. Cheap shots are seen for what they are.
