I hope they don't call it the yellow submarine.

There's a carrier named after Reagan. Jimmy just gets a sub.

The "USS Jimmy Carter"
There's a motherlode of potential humor there.
Does the ship have a defense system for attacking, aquatic rabbits?
Well, at least it won't crash in the dessert.
Maybe they could get some traction by nicknaming it "The Misery Index."

I don't think I'd name a sub after someone who can't keep their freakin' trap shut.

well why did the peace loving, peanut farming, north korea brown nosing, french butt sniffing, d-rat accept this particular honor given his pacifist and appeasement oriented positions?

I wonder how Jimmy Carter feels about a weapons platform that is named after him? Consider the hypocrisy and irony involved, depending on how he reacts.

Its primary mission will be to instill malaise in the enemy.

I look forward to future news about it, like "The USS Jimmy Carter attacked North Korea today..."

Jimmuh is probably just pleased as punch about it - consistency is not something that I think particularly worries him...

Does every president get a vessel named after him? Who decides what name a ship gets anyway? At least Carter was a naval officer. God help the crew of a ship named the USS Bill Clinton. Man I hope that never comes to pass.
If so, it ought to be a vessel providing lubrication materials.

God help the crew of a ship named the USS Bill Clinton. Man I hope that never comes to pass. The USS Bill Clinton is going to be the Navy's next generation garbage scow. Just like the USS Richard Nixon is going to be an electronic eavesdropping ship.
To: Plainsman
They're naming a sub after the most pacifist person on the planet .. Geeeeeeezzzzzz!
