> Kerry's military record has helped propel Vietnam to the forefront of the presidential campaigns.

Potentially, at least, it's OUR issue. For all patriots, anti-communists, hard-hats and decent Americans, here is revenge at last -- at the polls -- for the Left rioting and burning cities in the Vietnam era. Kerry threw in with the Left then and he's their guy to this day. Now the bill comes due.

Aren't these the guys that left that meeting and went down and shot down Senator Stennis in the street?

In an interview with The Sun, Camil acknowledged that, as a 24-year-old Marine sergeant fresh from Vietnam, he had proposed a philosophical concept of assassination. But he said the idea was just that, and was voted down at the meeting.

Lie. Camil proposed killing 6-7 pro-war Senators. Fiercely debated after taking pains to exclude possible FBI agents and bugs. A close vote.

Not a "philosophical concept", but a serious proposal for action.

The report was another example of the role a war still in the American consciousness 30 years after it ended...

No, it provides proof that some care whether the challenger for President knew if the VVAW executive committee, to which he belonged, debated a proposal to assassinate Senators.

The article tries to downplay the seriousness of this by implying "well, you know, that was a crazy time".
