March 27, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Senate's top Republican yesterday accused former anti-terror czar Richard Clarke of an "appalling act of profiteering" by using his insider status to sell a book about 9/11. In a dramatic speech on the Senate floor, Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) slammed Clarke as an opportunist and called his decision to write a book relying on insider information from his time in the White House "self-serving."

Bill Frist is someone I really admire. He is a medical doctor and a heart surgeon. He has seen life for what it is in the trenches. Anyone with any integrity, knowledge of history and intelligence has to be aghast in the face of the arrogant scheme of Mr. Clark and his cronies in the Democratic party and in the major media. It is a very dirty business. That they are willing to play this way tells me how far people can fall when isolated in government jobs for 20-30 years. They lose contact with reality of real life for most of the people. Unfortunately, political correctness and a lousy educational system has now had the opportunity to brainwash several generations of young people. Will our nation stand as we get into this immoral quagmire? It depends on how willing people are to let others do their thinking for them. I would ask everyone about how he/she recalls 9/11 and in those tenuous days following, what would he/she had done different than what our very new President did. The other thing which really bothers me is the lack of debate about when our CIA was gutted because that is the event which has wreaked a lot of destruction for our nation. My husband says Jimmy Carter did it..What do you remember about this? I say remember because we cannot rely on major media for the facts or truth anymore. They attempt to rewrite history even as it occurs.

Clarke exhibited a trait revealing a very back slidden nature. Those who fall into a trap of rejecting God may tend to become morally or immorally degenerate. The first manifestation of that reversion is a form of arrogance. It is interesting to observe how a person in the advanced stages of arrogance, who rejects God, will tend to find a substitute or counterfeit in moralistic, human good.

In Clarke's case, similar to Bill Clinton, the arrogant person makes apologies to the public in general for some presumed duty, but without any true accountability for their implied lack of responsible behavior.

Clarke specifically presumes he is guilty for failing to protect the victims of 911. Mutual liabilities may exist in any violent action, but the arrogant person goes a step further than recognizing a liability and instead begins to substitute their personal responsibility for the shared responsibility of others without quantification.

The arrogance becomes manifest by the lack of any truly corrective actions to redeem oneself to those who have been harmed. The arrogant person will apologize, but offer little to nothing of substantive value to alleviate any material harm.

The arrogant person becomes too self-absorbed in emotionalism to even conscientiously recognize the material void in their apology, however, the arrogant person will feel even more self-righteous once he makes his public statements, believing he has somehow sacrificed his honor and humbled his pride to those who have been harmed.

In actuality, the arrogant person who makes such claims of apology, has absolutely no intention to ever correct an injustice. They merely have advanced into a more desperate stage of arrogance which effects their public behavior and becomes a burden for society.

Insofar as the arrogance is limited to the one person, a sane society will isolate him from any further capacity to effect society with his moral degeneracy. Unfortunately, a society that begins to be degenerate itself, will tend to join in with the arrogant person in a downspiraling emotional wail of arrogance.

It's rather revealing to observe Democrats in general applauding persons such as Bill Clinton apologizing to Vietmanese and Clarke apologizing for terrorism. Such a run to entertain their apologies merely manifests how incredibly arrogant the Democrats and socialism in general becomes even when not materially threatened.

Anyone what actually WATCHED Frist make his speech will remember that speech for a long long time.

Without a doubt it was one of the finest speeches ever given on the floor of the Senate.

Reading it doessn't convey Frist's tenor.

Excellent take! Just listen to the man's statements and one can't help agreeing with Laura Ingraham's "drama queen" description.

It is fair to say that many of those who have turned on this country in the past have "amped" themselves up with an emotional buzz of self-righteousness arrogance. One of our nost notorious traitors, David Boice, comes to mind. Ethel and Julius Rosenberg might likewise be described in this category.

Gail, I'm almost certain that Chris Matthews brought that up during an interview with William Cohen on Thursday night, and Cohen said that Condi WAS under oath before the committee.
