"AFFLECK!"

That duck soundbite/sample cracks me up every time they use it.

And the Deankey clip was hysterical--I wish they hadn't taken that off the website. As you say, the best part is hearing the 3 of them cracking up as they realize how silly they must sound. At times I imagine the whole show is being broadcast from Laura's dorm room.

"I live in the boondocks in Minnesota, so I know what lousy late-night AM radio reception is like"

You've probably got just about the best solution in using the Internet to access radio
talk-shows...but just in case you've missed the C. Crane radio ads (usually on the Art
Bell Show, LOL!), you might want to check them out.
While pricey, I guess they do make good AM radios and some really potent AM antennae:

Great Photoshop (or whatever) of Kerry as a Frog!

It looks just as I remember Edward Fox in his last disguise as the assassin in the '73 movie "The Day of the Jackal", pretending to be a Frog war veteran.

The picture is worth saving and printing up as a poster.

When he loses the election, I'd like to stick it on all the lightposts in his Beacon Hill neighborhood, LOL.

It is conventional wisdom in some circles that Europe and the U.S. were much closer during the Clinton Administration

And did us no good at all

"I don't know who Hugh Hewitt is."

Check out www.hughhewitt.com.
Hewitt, grad of Harvard and of U. Michigan Law School, is also a Constitutional Law professor
at Chapman University School of Law.
He was a ghostwriter/assistant for Nixon; then was in DOJ during the Reagan years, having
been unanimously approved by the Senate.
He also did opinon pieces and some series on the big PBS station in Los Angeles (KCET)
as the token conservative, but moved on to talk radio.
It was interesting to hear him grow and get tough in dealing with Democrats/liberals
Hugh was very much the gentlemanly Republican...but after enough inteviews with
some jerky Democrats and the Florida imbroglio of 2000, he's a tough fighter.

Hugh may come off as a smug Harvard Man and a bit aloof as a lawyer...
but give him a try. He gets great guests, especially on defense issues and
runs great sound clips (I really miss the zinger outtakes from Rummy's press conferences!)

Hewitt's interview series on PBS, "Searching for God in America" was excellent, as is the companion book.

Guests and sound bites, as you say VOA, are FANTASTIC.

"AM radio shock jock, Hugh Hewitt..."

That is a pretty good laugh, given his Harvard and professorial veneer!
The guests, sound-bites and the verbal interplay with "Generalissimo Duane"
really do keep the show moving along.

While we're at it, we should also give a passing nod to Hewitt's other books:
"The Embarassed Believer" (may be out of print now)
and the more recent "In, But Not Of" (IIRC).

And other honorable mention goes to the appearances of David Alan White, the
expert of Shakespeare, opera and other high-brow activities.
I REALLY like the series on Shakespeare that gets run sometimes on holidays.
Since White makes Shakespeare interesting to midshipmen at Annapolis, he really
cuts past the usual "artsy" treatment in English class and gets right to
the hard messages/themes of Shakespeare.

to each his own

Amen to that.

Ain't America Great ! ? (within the constraints of the Constitution and not Law imposed by wacko liberal Judges, of course).

Don't get me wrong, I pretty much fall for ANY intelligent conservative woman (I know, intelligent AND conservative is redundant) up here in the conservative wasteland of Boston.

Except if they look like Barbara Milkulski or Rosie O'Donuts my ideology fails, but what the hey, the exception proves the rule.

Where was I? Another shot of vodka, no... already did that. Oh, I remember.

I don't dislike Ingraham, it's just that I like Coulter more. Plus, I think she's hiding a nice pair of hooters under those loose sweaters she wears.

Maybe Coulter's body reminds me of my ex. Six foot, skinny, topped off by amazing D-cups. The contrast of tall, skinny, and stacked just did me in.

Didn't hurt that she was 13 years junior to me. Falling for that body cost me a lot of lifespan.

Maybe Ingraham's attitude reminds me of my ex also. The ex could be a real B_tch at times. I don't cotton to that much.

Anyway, I just can't put my finger in it (er, burp, 'scuse me), that's, "can't put my finger ON IT".

Wow, now that my brain's fully fuzzy, even THAT expression sounds fun!

Carry on, it's lights out for me.

Perhaps..but if you recall the Dixie Chicks, the Barbara Streisand, etc. dive into foreign policy and military decisions then "Shut Up and Sing" makes a lot of sense!

I think Laura was giving them the benefit of the doubt. I don't necessarily agree with her.

I don't necessarily agree with her ON THAT ISSUE. I don't think any of them would flinch at making us less powerful and thus open us up to more dangers, but if we were being attacked, SOME of them might move to protect the people from physical harm.

You can just tape a Hannity show and replay it over and over again. You won't notice a difference.

"...NO American president would knowingly compromise the defense of our nation despite angering other countries."

Are you willing to bet all our lives on that? I would refer you to the Klintoons relationship with China and the transfer of technology to them. And the Leftist Kerry has tried repeatedly to geld our military/weapons.

I still enjoy Rush ... great sense of humor, but I agree with the rest of what you said. Hannity is great in person. He was in Tucson a couple of weeks ago and really know how to stir up a crowd, but his radio show is boring.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I meant a DIRECT attack. Of course, by making us less powerful, they are leaving us open to attacks.

But they would be run out of town pretty quick if they did not defend a blatant direct attack on American soil like 9/11

Have you read the book?

No, I'm sure it's great. I like everything she writes. And I wish we got her radio show here in the Philly area.
I just think the title of her book sounds silly.
