Well, they all sound good, and they sure will beat the UFO show and Phil Hendrie blather I get now.

For his part, Sen. John Kerry ...promises to rebuild the bridges to Europe... ...It is conventional wisdom in some circles that Europe and the U.S. were much closer during the Clinton Administration.
This has been remarked upon. The trouble is that this is tantamount to saying that the Europeans get to decide who our president is. "We'll be your friends if you elect who we say."
Lemme think about it, Pierre. I'll get back to you.

Yup. I love his columns. Read "Think a Second Time." Great, great book. Should be required reading in college.
Here's a link to some of Dennis' other columns:

Ugh. I feel your pain. That X-Files tinfoil show makes me worry about our collective, national gene pool.
And what is the deal with that Phil Hendrie nonsense? I ignored him easily enough when I lived in Nashville, but now I hear him everywhere I go. I was just in Green Bay this week, and that's the only show I could pick up at night. The guy can't get real guests, so he invents weird, imaginary ones...and then his listeners call in to debate/insult them? Am I missing something here?

I agree. But no matter how many straw guests he sets up, callers still call and take him seriously. I tired of Bruce Williams years ago, just because he is kind of boring, and he's the only other evening talk show we have here. Now we have Ed Schultz in the day time and I get all the Fargo city politics updates. I can't see how that show will ever get beyond the Upper Midwest. Thanks again for the links. They will sure help.

Memo to John Kerry: WE DON'T WANT TO PARTNERS WITH EUROPE! Europe is the center of decay in the West. Our ancestors (the ancestors of most of us, that is) LEFT Europe to get away from its social, political, and secular rot!
If we want to do what is right in the world, watch Europe, and do exactly the opposite!

Laura's great -- clear thinking, strong convictions, articulate, funny -- but I also like Lee and Matt on her show. Whenever they play the latest outrage quote from some lefty, Lee and Matt crack up. It's hilarious.

I do miss Kevin--the former engineer, before Matt. But you're right, it's obvious they're having fun. There's a great deal of good-natured ribbing going on in the studio.
And Lee's musical tastes help the show tremendously. Jayhawks, BoDeans, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, etc.

Yes, Lee is quite eclectic in his music tastes. Great stuff.
Plus, while Laura can eviscerate some leftist toad like gutting a fish, Lee and Matt devastate the pompous lefties in one of the most effective ways possible....by laughing at them.

I dont, and I have searched. I work for the local library, so I'll go and see if I can borrow the issue (in bound form I'm sure) and scan the image and post it. I think it was feb something 1995

Try June 15, 1997. I think that was the issue where Laura and other MSNBC young rising stars were featured.
I couldn't find a photo online, either.

Something about Ingraham just strikes me as wrong. I don't quite know what it is though.
I'll occasionally switch over to her if I'm driving and Savage starts into his all-too-frequent screaming rages.
I did that tonight and she was pounding some liberal to pieces. Not that I mind that she pounds on liberals, it's just that I don't need to have to listen to their lies in the meantime.
Plus there's something else, intangible, that bugs me about her personality.
Maybe I'm just a Coutler-mo. Coulter seems like less of a B_tch, just as smart, prettier in my opinion, and, if you're not an enemy (liberal), a nicer lady.

By the way, I love it when they prevail upon Laura to pull some little stunt or joke (like putting in Elmer Fudd's voice right after a quote from Charles Rangel), and then Laura ridicules them saying, "I knew this was a dumb idea," while the other two laugh in the background. They're like a couple of college guys.

How has she remained single?
Good question.
My naive speculation is that she's just too busy, dedicated to her work...
and there might be a religional aspect as she started talking recently about being
active as a Roman Catholic (I don't know if this was a new conversion or a
"return to the fold" experience).
IIRC, she and Lindsay Graham (of South Carolina) were rumored to be a number for awhile.
Of course, it could just be a matter of personal choice...or maybe she's like
some otherwise wonderful, likable professional women I've met: can't leave work
to come home.
A lady university professor I used to know...her husband (also a professor) had to
FORCE her to take two weeks off each summer.

What it is, I think, is that Laura is "catty" (my brother calls it "bitchy"), particularly when she's talking about Hillary, or some other fem-pol.

To each his own. I find Coulter to be gaunt and emaciated, not hot. While sarcastic and acerbic, Ann's penchant for hyperbole sometimes gets her carried away, and she comes across as a cartoon character.
I find Laura to be more down-to-earth. As I said, to each his own.
