God bless you. He already did, with such a father as yours...
When you look in the mirror, you will see your father's face. You will know he loves you. You will carry him with you, all the days of your life, within your heart.

Thank you so much for letting us know. It is hard when someone just drops off and we don't know why. I will pray for all of you. I know I lost my father in July. Actually the loss was felt more one to two months later as everything settled down. Know we all really care here on Free republic and your father will be missed. Jean

Semper Fi brother ...
To: RANGERAIRBORNE
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one hundred percent and then some.
Galantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor.
Godspeed brother.

Bottom line- this is a real war, and people are going to have to choose sides. I have chosen mine, and Reese has chosen his. He imputes only the worst possible motives to the U.S. and Israel, and gives the IslamoFascists a free pass (like his pal, Joe Sobran). That is NOT the side I want to be on.

Bring it on. Free speech is a GOOD THING. However, I have been around for awhile, been to a bunch of county fairs and a number of goat-ropings, and I cannot recall EVER IN MY LIFE seeing a Conservative convert to liberalism. I have seen the reverse happen a whole lot, though.

BWAHAHAHA!!!! That's what I mean about making threats when you don't know anything about me. One of the things I taught when I was in Special forces (pretty successfully) was anti-tank weapons. And I spent two years with Abrams tanks when they were first fielded in the Army- and I know where the weak points are... My house is the green one with the TOW missiles out front. Wipe off your treads before you come in- my wife will REALLY hurt you if you track up the living room! |

"I don't think I will ever understand that mindset."Me, neither. But here is a terrific example of a "liberal mind" in action- When I was in college (in the Resrves, just before I went active duty for Vietnam)there were daily anti-War protests on campus. I cornered one of these protesters, a chubby long-haired guy wearing sandals (of course!) in the Student Union one afternoon, and really tried to get some sort of understandable explanation (other than sheer cowardice) for the behavior of the "peaceniks". He insisted that there was NOTHING important enough for him to ever fight for. I asked him what he would do if some neighborhood thug was insulting his mother and threatening to attack her. His answer (I'm NOT making this up!) was "Well, we'd just have to move to a better neighborhood" This encounter has informed my understanding of "liberals" ever since.

I would pass on the good advice I got long in a roadhouse in Louisiana, when my Beretta .25 pistol dropped out of my pocket onto the floor. As the bartender picked it up and gave it back to me, he said "Son, get yourself a REAL gun!"
