Social Class.Org - Welcome to SocialClass.org This is the Web's only community for those who wish to intelligently discuss socioeconomic status, mobility and stratification. In the US, it appears as if the discussion of class is taboo, despite the fact that it is deeply entwined in nearly every facet of this capitalistic and democratic society. We have tried to make this resource as utilitarian as possible, first by attempting to answer the most frequently asked questions: "What class am I in?", and "What are the income/salary brackets for each class?" (see below). Please download, explore, and forward to friends and colleagues the exclusive SocialClass.org Excel-based class identification model, then join our discussion on the various topics concerning socioeconomic class in the US, or submit articles, web links, reviews, and downloadable files, that you feel would be of interest to this site's patrons. Last but not least, please become a member of SocialClass.org then recommend us to those who can add to the discussion, debate and/or learning experience.
A cry in the black education wilderness

"The real issue is that black people are becoming more "American" by the hour, moving from a defined group identity to a more individualized sense of being. This, if true, is our country's salvation. Welcome home.

The author makes a few good points. But on what factual basis can he make this statement: "Today there is no more a monolithic "black vote" than there is a "white vote,""? The black vote is as monolithic as it gets.

. Today there is no more a monolithic "black vote" than there is a "white vote," and this is another reason we haven't heard anything about it lately - because it no longer truly exists, at least not the way we have understood it in the past.
Yeah right there is no 90-95 % of the black vote going to the democrats in National Elections
