He has proposed a corporate tax cut of 5% to try to slow outsourcing. His advisors said not to do it. Now his base are exploding on DU, because this is a 5% tax cut for Halliburton. Ha!
He really is in trouble on this. The Deaniacs called him Bush lite and now he's proving it to them. Look for Nader to get a nice poll bump from this.

Steve Forbes on "Forbes and Friends (FOX-TV) stated this morning "...138 million working Americans." This number seems to be all over the map-kinda like the "jobs lost" number. Some say 2.2 million jobs lost under Bush. Others 2.7 million. Now some (mostly Dims) say "3 million."

I think that's close. I, too, have seen different values for this number, but I think it's probably somewhere between 130 and 150 million. Unemployment seems to be around 6 percent. probably a little less.
So, taking the larger of both, we see that, at most, there are only 9 million unemployed right now. A considerable number of those are unemployable for various reasons, but even if you use that figure, it's obvious that Kerry's 10 million new jobs ain't rooted in reality. It's made up outa whole cloth.
I hope the pubbies call him on it and make him look foolish. He's on the record saying that a 1.5% percent drop in the unemployment rate will produce 10 million new jobs, Ha! 1.5% of 150 million is a little over 2 million. I think 2 million jobs is what President Bush is saying we will see in the next year or so, right? Ha, again!

I think both are dreaming if they think they are going to "produce" so many jobs in so short a time. Steve Forbes has, however, stated the "Household survey" shows a net gain of 400K jobs since GWB took office. Others have so stated,i.e. Larry Kudlow. Lou Dobbs, etc. However, most use the "Establishment survey" and that clearly shows a job loss of 2.2 million-??
Anyway, GWB is going to have to change this, or at least the perception of a "weak economy." And do so fairly quickly...time is running out.
But Kerry's plan is totally bogus.

I agree. And time IS running out. The Bush-Cheney org had better get moving on this soon. Very soon.

Kerry's plan likely involves creating 15 million new gov't jobs, to offset the 5 million private sector jobs that will be lost.
Such a plan is little more than rearranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

Seems I recall the dimos recently ridiculing president Bush for saying he would create 2.5-million jobs this year.
Now, it is perfectly ok for Kerry to state he will create 10-million jobs in 4-years. Hmmmm, 10/4 = 2.5-million every year for 4-years. Wonder why this idea was outrageous when Bush proposed it, but to the press seems perfectly rational when Ketchup Boy proposes it???
