Deep in the Heart of Darkness/ Bush Fund Raiser, Boston

President Bush held a fund raiser at the Park Plaza Hotel on March 25 and a group of us showed up to give him a little support.
I arrived at the cornor of Arlington and Boyleston Streets around 4:45, and met up with Guinnessboy, his lady, song bird, Bostonian Righist, JMT576, Son of Liberty 76, djjava, jacket, To Hell With Poverty, ElectricStrawberry, and some Young Republicans from BU, BC and Emmanual Colleges, about 35 in all, not a bad turn out for Boston. That was the upside, the down side was the 3500 Bush haters who also crowed the streets.
It was a mixed crowd of Union Thugs, Commies, Anachists, poverty pimps, Aids activists, lesbians, semi-legal types, and the college contingent.
At first things went went well chants of "Four More Years" met by "No More Years", the usual stuff. That is untill a group of Iron Workers, Local 7, infiltrated the crowd and started pushing the pro Bush people away from the barrier blocking the street.
A few of them felt that they had to earn their show up money and began abusing the pro bush with some very bad language and eventually a few blows were exchanged, the police intervied and things settled down to a high level of nonphysical nastiness but they succeeded in driving the pro Bush demonstrators from the barrier.
The Union theme seemed to be Jobs, it must be since the union welfare scam, Big Dig, is shutting down they are feeling the pinch. The exception in this group would be SCMEU who would only like a bigger share of our pay checks, TAXES.
The rest of the crowd seemed to be the usual leftists from WWP, SWP, their various fronts, plus a few Anarchists from Cambridge. The body oder level was high among this group, as was the lack af imagination expressed in their signs and banners, haven't changed in three years.
Because of the altercation the Pro Bush people were under police protection as the shouting continued or should we say verbal interaction. The FReepers gave as good as they got in a reasoned non profane manner. I am looking foreward to their comments.
At about 5:30 the crowd started to break up, Union Thugs going home, commies to another protest down in front of the Park Plaza. The FReepers were escourted to the Common by the police accompanied by the cat calls of the unwashed.

I have about 26 pics that came came out and I will post later. This was an interesting FReep in that we were, as usual, in the midst of the crowd and exposed to the stupidity of the Bush Haters at close hand.
I wandered around taking pictures and talking to people, quite a few undercover Bush supporters. I missed a lot of the action on the protest front which can be filled in by other FReepers.

A reminder of what happened to Don and Terri Adams when the protested slick willie in Philadelphia.
The media will make no mention of this violence by union thugs.

There's a poster on DU who was there and reports that the union thugs muscled the Bush supporters away from the action.

Best quote by THEM:
"The Constitution is an antiquated, obsolete document. We need a Western European parliament." --unedumacated weenie
By US:
"I'd rather have a twang than a lisp"--Freeper (To Hell With Poverty) addressing a "light-in-the-loafers" drama queen who was raggin' on Bush's Texan twang.
Lesson hopefully learned:
Don't practice free-speech anywhere near labor union members, unless you want to "trade blows". I'm in a wrist-brace for a few days.

Typical peacenik, foul mouthed, anti-freedom of speech behavior by the Demonrats. They really are a sick bunch and your group did really well in standing up to those punks.

as was the lack af imagination expressed in their signs and banners, haven't changed in three years. When Gore spoke at UMass in 2000, I was at a friend's and saw troops of union guys walking by, toward UMass, with signs. My friend says they pick up the signs at the Union Local (which was just down the street the other way).
(Still not as bad as when Kerry last ran -- against Weld -- and his signs were apparently, for some reason, stored in the Postal Workers Local building; I went by one day when the doors were open -- Kerry signs were stacked everywhere!)

Was anyone arrested for assault & battery?
We had a fairly calm situation in Nashua earlier in the day.

I forgot to mention - we had three arrests that I saw up in Nashua, involving people who refused to clear the security perimiter.

No, not that I would expect it, the Cops kept a tight lid on things after the first incident.

The union thugs are a lot more polite up in New Hampshire. About 1 in 20 people has a concealed carry permit, and the thugs know that if they put someone in fear of serious injury or death, they could wind up dead.
Interesting illustration of what happens when you destroy the right to self-defense.

Here's some people you might want to talk to that live in the Boston area!

Gotta duck the physical confrontation stuff. Defend yourself if need be, but do not seek out "exchange of blows."
I am saying this to everybody. I know Little Bill can handle himself.
It's gonna be a real nasty election. http://www.freerepublic.info/focus/f-news/1105356/posts

There's gotta be a way to counter them w/o letting them lay a hand on you. Pepper spray?

After last night I am fully behind my own convictions, standings and beleifs. After seeing how obnoxious and crass those moron kerry followers are and how well mannered our side is, once the public is aware we shouldnt have a problem come election time.
