**Richard Clarke Takes Position as ABC News Consultant**
ABC News | March 25, 2004

Posted on 03/25/2004 8:47:38 PM PST by Howlin

I don't do this very often, so forgive me.

I was watching the ABC program tonight on Donald Rumsfeld at 8 P.M. EST.

Right in the middle of the show, here appears Richard Clarke, and down in the corner is the little ABC logo with the words ABC (SOMETHING) CONSULTANT. (Not sure what TYPE of consultant, but definitely CONSULTANT.

This will be a real the standard practice in the media now.

If you are a gov't official and stab the back of any Republican the media will be open arms in getting you a position.

Well, as outraged as I am by this, I would point out the silver lining.

At least he went someplace where no one will be seeing him very much...lol

The commission extention deal comes from your Feb 27, 2004 article...

Interesting that in early February Clarke's buddy, Rand Beers, as well as ambassador Wilson of the Niger flap thing, both appeared as signatories on a democrats abroad Kerry endorsement letter- which was sent to the membership of that organization imploring them to support Kerry. Interestingly, one of the recipients appears to be the Iranian state newspaper the Tehran Times, which published the letter and so brought it to our attention.

NOVEMBER 6, 2003 : (MEMOGATE : ROCKEFELLER INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE PLOT TO UNDERMINE THE PRESIDENT AND THE WAR EFFORT IS EXPOSED) It [the plan] centered on duping the panel's Republican chairman, Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas, into approving probes that in actuality would be fishing expeditions inside the State Department and Pentagon. The authors hoped to dig up and hype "improper or questionable conduct by administration officials." According to a staff memo, the committee then would release the information during the course of the "investigation," with Democrats providing their "additional views" that would, "among other things, castigate the majority [Republicans] for seeking to limit the scope of the inquiry." In other words, they would manufacture and denounce a cover-up where none existed. The Democrats then would drag the issue through the 2004 presidential campaign by creating an independent commission to investigate, according to the memo. The plan, made public by Fox News on Nov. 6, went like this: "Prepare to launch an independent investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation at any time – but we can only do so once. The best time to do so will probably be [in 2004]." - Democrat Senator Rockefeller's office memo via Fox News
(Even before the memo was written, Rockefeller's staff already was off on its own, well outside the traditional bipartisan channels. According to the memo, the "FBI Niger investigation" of reports that Saddam Hussein's regime had tried to buy uranium from West Africa "was done solely at the request of the vice chairman."- comment by some freeper)

Interesting.

One can only wonder what "they" (includes the media whores) plan to pull next.

I wonder if Clarke attended this book fair? Or if he'll attend next year's?

OCTOBER 2003 midmonth : (NIGERFLAP/NOVAK/PLAME AFFAIR : FORMER AMBASSADOR JOE WILSON IN GERMANY AT "BOOK FAIR"?) [Wilson] will attend a book fair in Germany... to test the market. He said he first turned down the suggestion that he go, but changed his mind after publication of the fact he was considering it. - "Wilson: Bush Not Party to Leak," by Walter Pincus, The Washington Post, 10/6/2003

Could Mr. Clarke be the guy who leaked the 'news' that Plame was a CIA operative to Novak? Could he be the guy who shopped the sotry around to six news services? Could he be covering his arse from being nailed as the leaker by making a lot of noise just in case he is exposed as that 'administration source?'

Ratings are NOT the goal. Supporting democrat candidates and democrat priorities are the goal.

Ratings for all the left leaning stations are DOWN.

Further, my guess is that Microsoft will pull the plug on MSNBC soon AFTER the 2004 election.

Ambassador Wilson was on the NSC staff along with Richard Clarke and the guy Clarke donated to, Steve Andreasen :

1990s? - 1998 : (WILSON JOINS NSC AS AN AFRICAN SPECIALIST) Mr. Wilson joined President Clinton's National Security Council staff as an African specialist, then retired in 1998. - "Wilson, wife have tight ties to Democrats. " By Rowan Scarborough, THE WASHINGTON TIMES, 2 Oct 03

Was Clarke's book the reason why an extension of "time" was requested by this 911 Commission?

Maybe just in time for Novak to come back and say with a straight face that it wasn't a white house source.
