[history]
At the urging of reporters, the White House often allows bits of "background" information to be put on the record. But it's rare for it to release an entire background briefing, and virtually unheard of to do it 18 months after the fact and after the briefer has left the administration.

Rush had it right, from now on he'll refer to them as
CBS, NBS, ABC, MSNBS, CNBS, and FOX... He's absolutely spot on, as usual.

Directv, no local channels, does the trick for me. I get my local info from our station that plays FoxNews radio!

Angle used some trick I hadn't heard of in decades. I think I remember that they used to call it good journalism. Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since anyone has seen it. Sure hope there isn't much danger that this tactic might catch on at our nation's schools of journalism. </sarcasm>

What do those people want?
Do they want George Bush blamed personally for 9-11? How about his head on a stake?
I tell you this -- and I will go to hell for this, I am sure -- but those people are getting on my LAST nerve.
One day on MSNBC, I happened to see a town meeting with the family members of the WTC victims; they were discussing the government's proposal to pay them.
I swear to you that some of the families actually said that THEIR loved one WAS more "valuable" than the waiters in the Windows on the World restaurant. It was one of the most disgusting things I've EVER seen on TV.
And as a last word on this: I don't see why we have to pay those people money to the tune they want; hell, those people are worth more dead than alive!
I have absolutely NO sympathy for some family whose loved one sold stocks and bought a big old house and had a bunch of kids, a big old SUV, had the kids in private schools AND HAD NO LIFE INSURANCE!

I'm suprised....USA Today.
Maybe slowly the Dem orgs will have to take note.
Sadly, Clarke's spin will stick anyhow for many sheeple at least partly.....which was the point aside from selling books and him getting some getback for not getting Ridge's job.
This is about the most incredibly partisan I've seen the mainstream media act since impeachment....maybe. They are always partisan to a degree.

In other words, lying is more noble than exposing the lie.Unless it's the Pentagon Papers and you're the NY Times.
To: Howlin
Howlin, have you ever seen this interview that Dan Blather did of President Bush Sr? in '88? He was absolutely beligerent... PoliPundit posted it here... It's amazing, I've never seen it... I've NEVER seen such a hostile interview of someone in such high power (VP- running for President). This has to be the most blatantly partial news reporter around!!!

Jeff, where did the "critics say" that Richard Clarke is a damn liar?
They acted like that book was the CLIFF NOTES for thier hearings. The damn book hasn't even been VETTED....and that jerk Roemer did everything except set up a table with books for sale on it (of course, THEY all had copies; as Wolfowitz said, "selected reporters" got advance copies!

O'Reilly read a letter from an astute viewer who said "Bush is being accused of not going in preemptively against Al-Qaeda, and now is being criticized for doing just that against Iraq!!! He can't win!!! Hypocrites!!!

Zahn and Couric and Donaldson have all been beyond the pale ugly to W the Elder in interviews.
I fondly recall when Britt Hume got under The Pretender's skin.
