What do you consider a fair market value for cable channels? What would you consider paying? If you could only have 2-3 stations for $100 per month, what would they be, or is $100 for 3 too much? Would Nielsen ratings become obsolute? Is it the government's responsibility to dictate cable TV?

A dollar each. I'd pick FNC, History Channel, A & E, Discovery, TLC, HGTV, BBC America, the Weather Channel, maybe a few more.

If they had a channel that would show the sky all the time in case there is an asteroid coming, I might even buy a TV.

I wish Congress would worry more about lowering tax rates and cutting spending and less about relatively insignificant nonsense like ATM fees and cable rates.

I'd take all the news channels, Turner Classic Movies, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, Nick, TV Land, Bravo, Disney, TNT, TBS,
I guess it's almost what I have now, except no MTV, and replace AMC with TCM.

I'd pick Fox, History, TLC, Discovery (Monster House & Garage and Mythbusters), Animal Planet (not the Aussie guy), Nick at Nite (old classics that would be banned today {All in the Family}), C-span (because they cover esoteric congressional stuff normal channels don't), Weather Channel and AMC (Great classics).

So how do you get AP without the Aussie guy?

"I wish Congress would worry more about lowering tax rates and cutting spending" Slowly we'll get there, the democrats took 70+ years to ruin this country, it's going to take more than 3 years to restore it. There are too many dependent upon government now. We have to keep at it, with attrition, those who were for the great society' will soon be dead, and the hippie baby boomers are a small minority. We have to keep at it. Remember, we have instant news. 10-20-40-60 years ago the news was by newspaper or TV. We all want change NOW, but we have to be realistic, maybe if I'm lucky, I'll see a true conservative government in my life, but I have to work for it for my kids, my grandkids and our future generations. We can not throw up our hands in dispare.

HGTV
FoxNews
Weather Channel
Discovery
TLC
Cartoon Network
I can't believe how much I spend when this is all I need. They could cut us another break on the high speed access while they're at it.

I like the classic movies. One weekend, about 20 years ago, I watched a Bette Davis festival. It was incredible.
To: Indy Pendance
I've been begging for this for YEARS! I abolutely refuse to subsidize VIACOM, and will not get cable until I'm able to choose the channels, and only the channels, I want.

I know, he's annoying now. I used to like him until he got 'popular'.

Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., agreed.
"You start acting irresponsibly, we regulate you," Lott told cable industry executives at a committee hearing. "There is a point where people will rebel. They're going to holler at us, and we're going to take it out on you. Americans are only going to pay so much for football. This is a fair warning."
Now this is what I call teeth and about damn time.
I NEED:
FoxNews
Bravo
OLN (Sunday bullriding)
Bravo
Comedy Channel
IFN
More Bravo
No MTV
Discovery
