What exactly was so wrong with what the guy said?

As my mother would say, "It's not what you said, but how you said it." I got slapped more often for my tone of voice than I ever did the actual words. (And rightfully so.)

You are correct there, and it is very refreshing. Most I've read in that regard is that he finds himself too busy helping people to have room for any relationship. He has paid for extremely obese people to have surgery and personally helped them to change their lifestyles. He and his programs have helped many.

The difference between your mother slapping you and Richard Simmons slapping a stranger at the airport is that in most places, what your mom did isn't against the law. It is socially disturbing behavior for Simmons to think he can get go and slap someone for a comment. I hope the guy sues him.

He walked into his office in a pink ballerina outfit, and while he was sitting in the waiting room yelled "I love that man!" when he saw my old man walk by, thoroughly embarrassing him in front of everyone present. Then, to make matters infinitely worse, Simmons ran up to him and jumped into his arms, insisting that my old man carry him into the examining room...lol

Getting slapped by Richard Simmons and then suing him is just a step below being beat up by a 10 year old girl and than suing her.....Even if it was my comment that led to the "slap" you can rest assured that Simmons would have been layed out, not have charges pressed against him.
