Feinstein said that by defining when life begins, the bill was "the first step in removing a woman's right to choice, particularly in the early months of a pregnancy before viability." If there is one thing I cannot stand, its the viability argument. Christopher Reeve can't viably live unassisted ex-utero but I doubt I have the right to terminate him.
But, then, he's not my kid.

"The Senate also defeated an amendment by Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., that would require employers to give unpaid leave, and states to pay unemployment benefits, to women (why not men too you idiot???) when they or family members are victims of domestic or sexual violence. "
Murray is an absolute idiot. Don't be surprised to see her sponsor a Bill to force employers to give people paid days off so that they can fight parking citations. She is just one moron, near the top of a long list of morons, that run this POS State I reside in.

So it it be written, so let it be done.

I see the Democratic Senators realized that women have a right to choose - their Senator in November.
Libs will go bonkers over this, but too bad - they have the 911 Commission or Bush's jokes about WMDs. They did not choose their battles wisely, and will lose the war.
Good.

Why is this a Federal Government issue?
Is everyone else here OK with the idea that the Feds can do and regulate any damn thing they want to?
I'm not.

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., President Bush's opponent this fall, interrupted his campaign schedule to vote yes on the one-victim amendment. He voted no on final passage. He hates unborn babies.
For those who say there is no difference between the two party's this is a classic case. Kerry would veto and it would be upheld. Bush will sign and it will become law.

Doing my best Diane Frankenstein imitation: "But they aren't real children".
Whenever some pinhead lefty tells me abortion is a "choice" and should remain legal in all instances I just look at them and say, "yes, you are correct. And too damn bad your mother didn't have that choice".
Usually shuts them up.

I hope like mad the GOP gains enough Senate seats in 2004 so we can tell Chaffee and Snowe to leave the party.
What contemptible human scum.

I'm surprised to see Evan Byah on the NAY vote list.
As to Kohl-WI...protest his department stores. I think I'll call the local Kohl's store and berate the manager! lol

Yep...I remember when the abortion lovers talked and talked about the "first trimester". And when it was pointed out at the time that it would eventually head down the slippery slope to abortion on demand in any instance they, as usual, called the opposition names and accused them of other motives.
They looked us in the eye and said, "no, no, no...we are only talking about the first trimester". Now look where we are.

Try reading the Constitution...the right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
When two humans copulate and conceive, it's a human being, PERIOD! It's not a dog or a cat.
But given the NAY voters on this issue, it's apparent two humans can copulate and create snakes and rats.

The Senate voted Thursday to make it a separate crime to harm a fetus during commission of a violent federal crime, a victory for those seeking to expand the legal rights of the unborn.
Thursday, March 25 - Feast of the Incarnation
Mother of God (Wa in kana jismouki)
Mother of God, O Gentle One,
treasure of mercy and our hope.
You are our refuge and in you we place our trust.
Intercede for us, O Virgin Mary
and have compassion on our dead.
Though your body may be far from us,
Virgin Mother when you pray.
But your prayers are always with us
giving us protection and shelter.
We implore you to ask him who honoured you
when he became incarnate from you.
Ask him for us sinners, forgiveness
and his mercy for ever and ever.
You are our Mother, you are our hope
you are our glory and you are our refuge.
Be our advocate before your Son
that in his mercy, he may forgive our sins.
Do not abandon us, O Gentle Mother.
You are full of all the graces.
Pray for your children, all your children,
who give you thanks for ever and ever.
Fr Geoffrey Abdallah.
